I like the workshop idea.. another few suggestions: are there any photobooks that might get your creative side thinking? The Latest Additions to your Library thread is a good one to browse. Also, how long since you've visited a major art gallery? I find it refreshing to see art, and it takes my mind off gear, and on to seeing things differently and trying those ideas out.

Just my 2c. Sorry to hear about your health. It goes without saying that the longer you can be active, the better your life will be. Looking forward to seeing some snow pictures from your RAV4 excursions!

I think, both. I know I'm a gearhead, but I have to buckle myself down and make myself focus on what the stuff can do for my photography, not "Wow, in 1963 when this came out it was a game-changer. Putting the shutter speed dial there was a stroke of genius, and the shutter design is excellent..."

My cameras help me get photographs. If a camera doesn't help me get the photographs I want, or if I just end up not using it, I let it go. With my finances and space constraints I sort of have to, but I've started thinking about really distilling my gear; getting rid of 5 okay things to have one superb thing. It means making the hard decisions, but I know if it doesn't hurt just a little I'm not doing it right!
