Quote - My wife likes to complain about my chronic tardiness by saying, "You'll be late to your own funeral." I've never figured out why that would be a problem.

Yeah, strange isn't it? Kinda like, "First of all he goes and `pops-off` without telling anyone and now he's keeping us all waiting at the church." (Muttering under her breath that her mother always warned her about him).

Before I go, I'd hope to meet and befriend a young photographer to whom I could leave any gear that he/she really wants. If not: well, I find it hard to get excited about what happens to my cameras after I'm gone.

Cheers,

R.

I would do the same...I truly doubt that any of my kids would be interested in my photo gear, keeping something for sentimental reasons only, so I would rather the stuff go to someone who would use them...

When did you meet my (dearly departed) mother-in-law?🙂

I want to be burried IN a ULF camera, with a fully equipped darkroom around me, a hifi turned on with the sonatas for Cello of Bach playing.

I won't regret a damn thing...

When I got my M3 in 1990 it was clear that others had put many rolls of film thru it. After I'm gone I hope that process will continue. The American Indians had the idea that we do not own land, we are simple caretakers. I think Leicas are similar. I guess that means I need to get out my 1934 Leica II and put some film thru it. Joe

I tell myself I'll take my MP to the grave, but probably in the end, I'll let my future-children take it. I'll go six feet under with some future-family shot prints taken with my M or OM.

I'm single, so I've told my sister which of the many items I have around are worth something, so the estate sale people don't screw those to whom I leave stuff.

We really don't "own" anything, we're just placeholders for the future owners...
