Film, the next evolution.

Yeah, strange isn't it? Kinda like, "First of all he goes and `pops-off` without telling anyone and now he's keeping us all waiting at the church." (Muttering under her breath that her mother always warned her about him).

Fun but dark subject. I have to agree with Dave (not always easy to do) and say I don't really give a f**k what happens to my stuff, . . .or me for that matter.

They will rake it out of the ashes together with hip and knee. These things don't fit in the urn.

Get a bigger urn. There's no future in these miniature formats...

Before I go, I'd hope to meet and befriend a young photographer to whom I could leave any gear that he/she really wants. If not: well, I find it hard to get excited about what happens to my cameras after I'm gone.
Cheers,
R.
I would do the same...I truly doubt that any of my kids would be interested in my photo gear, keeping something for sentimental reasons only, so I would rather the stuff go to someone who would use them...

When did you meet my (dearly departed) mother-in-law?

I want to be burried IN a ULF camera, with a fully equipped darkroom around me, a hifi turned on with the sonatas for Cello of Bach playing.
I won't regret a damn thing...

What use is the camera if you don't bury the film and chemicals as well (ah wait, digital)

When I got my M3 in 1990 it was clear that others had put many rolls of film thru it. After I'm gone I hope that process will continue. The American Indians had the idea that we do not own land, we are simple caretakers. I think Leicas are similar. I guess that means I need to get out my 1934 Leica II and put some film thru it. Joe

The above post should have read "simply caretakers" not simple caretakers altho in my case simple caretaker may apply. Cheers. Joe

Ride, dive, shoot.
I tell myself I'll take my MP to the grave, but probably in the end, I'll let my future-children take it. I'll go six feet under with some future-family shot prints taken with my M or OM.

I'm single, so I've told my sister which of the many items I have around are worth something, so the estate sale people don't screw those to whom I leave stuff.
We really don't "own" anything, we're just placeholders for the future owners...

No -- I have a feeling that it will all need to be sold to pay for the funeral.

I want to take mine with me! Will be reporting back on how the M9 works under the extreme heat!
