$50 was a very reasonable price. As long as the bellows are OK, cleaning the shutter, the lens and readjusting focus is really not too difficult. Even Fallis's $80 is not unreasonable. But for $130+40, I would probably look for something with a slightly better lens. I had a Nettar somewhile ago and I think it is good for landscape and B&W, showing good shadow details and sufficiently sharp at the corners once stopped down to f11 or thereabout.

If you think your focus is a bit out, you can easily adjust it by the groundglass/loupe method. With good daylight it can be done in less than a minute.

$40? That's way out of line! I've never paid more than $15 + shipping for a Nettar, and I have bought several.

well maybe i got ripped off, but i'm fine with the price i paid. in new york you're not going to find deals by looking around or being 'patient,' so you have to go online and, well, $40 was how much it cost at auction on ebay. i think sometimes people find a really great bargain for themselves and then they pin that as the price that should be paid for the equipment. i say i'd rather pay the extra $20 in order to just get it and start using it rather than wait two years to find the perfect price.

That is a 6x6, though. 6x9s are nowhere near that frequent and tend to be a bit more costly. You can get occasionally one for less than $40, but it would take some patience.

Just took a closer look. WOW those prices have gone up! I used to be able to buy those things all day long for $15 or $20 each. Now I'm wishing I had done so.

Edit: On the other hand, I just found a nice 6x9 Ikonta with what looks like some easily repairable damage, going for $1.45 and I put a bid on it.
