Hey Laurens , nice to see someone studying photography because these days in Belgium you don't need a diploma anymore . I graduated in '75 in Antwerp . I tried a Mamiya 7II at photokina years ago , still regret I didn't buy a new one then , lovely camera . Good luck in finding one at a good price !

I own the 7ii and love it, but if you find a good 7 version 1, don't hesitate to get that! The only real difference between them is the lack of a double exposure mode on the older version 1. I've owned my 7ii for about a year and have shot about 20 rolls through it and have never once used the double mode.

I had the 7 and 'upgraded' to the7ii. No need. Double exposure swith activated by accident a couple of times, and never actually used on purpose. Veiwfinder improvement, have not seen any benefit in real use.
