X100 replacement next year?

Here's a quote from the article:

So the question becomes: is this a camera you could use for a real job? Yes and no. the IQ is definitely there, and the JPEGS are so good out of the box that you can supply them directly to a client. I recently shot a commercial job for an editorial client and sent him the JPEg direct, fully expecting him to come back and ask for TIFFs. To my surprise he called me back to say how clean and usable they were. I didn’t tell him what I had shot them on. I know of a well- known food shooter who is using an X-series for his work. Carefully shot and processed it is possible to get an A0 print from this sensor. remember too, that the range of raw convert-
ers for any camera based on the X-Trans sensor is limited, including the replacement for the X100, due out early next year, which will use it as well. However the perception among the uneducated that you have to have Big gear to be a Real Pro still exists. You might struggle to convince a wedding client that you were for real with such a small camera...until they saw the results. Interestingly, this camera system is be- coming increasingly used by wedding profes- sionals overseas.
My only other annoyance with what is otherwise a fantastic camera is that they have not fixed the issue with minimum shutter speeds on Auto ISO. The X100 allows you to do this, so why not the X-Pro1 or X-E1? Mr Fujifilm, please!

If the x'trans sensor will be in the new camera, the "classic" x100 will likely begin to see a cult status. I love the reasonably small sized RAW files from the current x100.
Would not trade them for larger files from a poorly supported (and much loved by me anyway) x'trans sensor as the xp1 has.
Even with RAW support in the future, the lower MP x100 is a handy tool.

There are the other consumer x series as well

Since the rumor says announcement is in or around time of ces, this puts the announcement about
- x100
- x10
- xf1
- xs1
As all possibilities... :D

I would love to c an xtran version of the x100 or a 20mp+ Bayer sensor replacement. Probably would not buy one until my x100 gives up the ghost though.

It would make sense for them to rationalise the sensors. I'll be happy if that's all they do, as it means mine won't be rendered obselete.

I've had no problems submitting files for a full page bleed from X100. For my mind, it's the focusing that's the biggest limitation; more specifically, the need to keep switching to macro mode, which I find the most clunky aspect of the camera.

Plenty happy with X100 IQ so far. I wish for a wider focal length, though it would be cool if it had a discrete multi focal length a'la tri-elmar but not for the price of jacket-pocket-ability ;)

I need to sell cameras to fund a FF mirrorless and the X100 should be sold, but this is like saying goodbye to your best friend. It is hard to do. The 100 has been a great camera and functions perfectly.

I'll take one no problem. Love the X100 and love the X-Pro1. I would like to see pretty much the same camera with an updated sensor (or even full frame) and for them to add more robust dials and buttons (like the X-Pro1 / X-E1). Faster AF would be very nice.

I hope it is a different focal length. I would love to have a leaf shutter on a 50, 75, 90, or 105 equivalent.

My x100 is great for weddings because of the flash sync speed.

This will be such a good camera with the X-trans sensor. The current bayer unit is good, but after using the x-pro1 that special sensor is just so much nicer than the bayer.

My personal wish list -
1. Revised lens - despite the current 23mm being an amazing little lens, f1.8 would be perfect and improved bokeh would be a big plus.
2. Rear controls from x-pro1.
3. Filter ring on the lens.

So you are funding for the new M-240? Or are there other serious (with integrated VF) FF mirrorless digital around? Makes me envious.
More likely I will go the X200 route. Or X-Pro1...

Have you shot with an x-pro1/xe-1? (not in an inflammatory way - just curious.)

I've a friend who has one so I've messed around with it but not with the files themselves. I'm going by what I see posted here and elsewhere, and then it's more a liking for the X100 files than a dislike of the pro-1.

I'd hazard a guess and say it's the Sony RX1 that's being bought by becolor, no?

I love my X100, but for the next version, I would love to have:

23mm f/1.8 or 1/4.
OR
35mm f/1.8 or 1.4.
Faster AF
Better high ISO
Better EVF

...and that's it.
