Any truth to what I read on some forum that the XE2s has a serious lag time in "eye sensor" mode, going from the rear LCD to the viewfinder takes 1.5 seconds? Seems hard to beleive? Any other XE2s bugs real or imagined?

It really depends what improvement's they put into the xe2s over the xe2 if it's

with the new firmware upgrade to the xe2 it is very close to the xe2s…the s has nothing that impacts me much.

Fuji Rumors has posted that the XE2 and XT10 have been discontinued.
The XE3 may be announced at Photokina. Or not. Rumors and all. 😱

Wow, didn't expect the X-T10 to be discontinued at all.

Fuji X cameras are a pretty "small company".
I imagine it will be difficult to have too many different components going.
The Xtrans-3 now displacing the X-trans-2. They likely can't continue to produce the old line and the new and keep up.
It just means all the cameras get a sensor "upgrade".
I may grab another XT1 or XE2 while they are still available.
I prefer lightweight files for these small cameras. In fact 12mp would be fine.
After upgrading to a Lexar UHS-2 X2000 card, the Xt1 now writes like a beast. My final quibble with Fuji is gone (slow write speed).
I imagine the XE2 would perform similarly with a card upgrade.
Should have experimented with cards sooner.
Could have saved myself some Winge-ing 😱

i'm not surprised that the xt10 was discontinued....it was made for a child's hand, it was too small.

I'm not surprised both are being discontinued. Fuji over committed to the 16mp sensor and it took a while to work off the commitment. Assuming they've satisfied the contract they need to start using the 25mp sensor as much as possible.
Not being snobbish but my guess is people who buy entry level cameras are more inclined to chase pixel count. This one's a bit of a challenge for me as I'd really like to have IBIS with 25mp. One thing I learned with my old D800 is with a decent lens you really gotta hold steady to realize what all those pixels can do. Like my Fuji's but...

I also found my X-T10 small and I have smallish hands. I bought a cheap grip for it and it feels fine now.

I hope Fuji keeps the X-E series cameras. Even though I never thought I would like them (I'm not a fan of either EVFs or LCD "live view") I've really come to appreciate the smaller size, lighter weight and the way they handle. I'm even coming around to using the EVF and LCD.
The X-E2/E2S with the 35/2 compliments the X100/S/T nicely.

As far as I know the XE2S delay is a real thing. Certain menus settings affect the switching delay times. However the shortest delays (apparently much less than 1.5 sec)are still longer than with the XE-2.
Hopefully this will be addressed in firmware.

I have both an almost new X-E2S and a recent X-E2 with the latest firmware. My non-scientific testing of them from the comfort of my den with cameras pointed at my computer screen shows very little if any difference. Both are too damn slow, IMO. But both are tolerable. Not 1.5 seconds. Maybe 1 second or less. Still too long.

I don't get it. My E2 switches from LCD to evf instantly. Not a matter of definition, it's switched when my eye is around 2" from the eye cup. I keep the LCD on the info screen. But I've use the LCD with both my custom setting and Fuji's std and it's the same. The same as any other X body I've had except the X100T (perhaps a few 10ths of a second on the T). If anyone want settings, be glad to post them. But this is the first I've heard of this.

I did not think it would be the case, but for me, the X-E2 was a nice upgrade from the X-E1 - everything is just faster and more responsive. A big one for me is the refresh rate on the EVF in low light. And the assignable function buttons are great. (I use fill flash a bit and the flash compensation is important to me.) Not a huge difference in IQ, but I think the E1 is 12 bit raw and the E2 is 14 bit raw. The X-E2 RAF files are more flexible - especially recovering highlights at base ISO. If you're a JPEG shooter or use high ISO all the time you may not even notice.

Neither camera has even been discounted (let alone "discontinued") by major retailers. Heck, you can still get a brand new X-E2 (no 's') - and it's a nice deal at $499. (Adorama)

Please go back to lenses. That was far more fun for us than an e2 to an e2s to express your continuing GAS attack.
And yes, the eye level sensor has a lot of lag in it. Worst than the X100T which I sold due to its lag when using either the evf or ovf. It's like using an old Sony NEX.
I just got back from 3 months travel with my e2. Left the xp1 home. Fabulous little camera. Small, light, just works no matter what you expect from it or the shooting conditions.
