Xpan and A-mode

Depends on the lighting. More than often my xpan exposes correctly if in a-mode, but sometimes when its in low light it can over expose

I've also gotten underexposure when shooting the south face of a building against an overcast white north sky. I should have taken a closeup reading of the building, or an incident light reading. I have not gotten overexposure, though.

See my post above "Xpan in Yellowstone National Park", all three images shot in A mode with Xpan.
All light meters should read 18% reflection. Take a reading of a gray ccard with your Xpan and compare to hand held meter to check calibration then you need to decide how to use that information if scene is at one extreme or the other.

I usually experience underexposed photos when I get careless with quick snaps in A-mode. I usually use a handheld meter and set the speeds manually. The shutter speeds doesn't show up in the VF but instead on the LCD at the back of the camera.

All Xpan & Xpan2 underexpose when in A mode (I use both)...it's a small problem of the camera. Once you know that you can use A mode. I only use it if time is of the essence & I don't have time to take a meter reading (not often but it happens). Always bracket!
