I just acquired an Xpan and of course I love this camera. The only problem is the rangefinder needs adjustment. My camera focuses fine at 2.5 and 5 ft. But the patch lines up before the lens reaches infinity.
I went by a couple of repair shops here in Seattle and neither wanted to do it, one said Hasselblad never even supplied them with service manuals. instead instructing them to send all repairs to Hasselblad.
Searching this forum I found someone who adjusted their own with success and I'm wondering if anyone else has made their own adjustments. It looks pretty straight forward. Is there a good reason not to?

I have not done it myself, but did it on one other RF camera. Generally it's a pretty simple process. I'd say go for it. The XPan instructions look fairly straight forward.

If you meant the instructions with hot shoe opened, I did it. You will need patience, care and constant checkinh, but it's doable.

do a search bec I posted how to do this some time back. Its dead easy for horizontal alignment. Took about 10 mins from start to finish.

Thanks Turtle, your earlier post was the one I was referring to. It does look pretty easy but unfortunately my vertical alignment is a tad off as well.... I could probably live with that.
The one thing that is unclear to me is how to get to the screws holding the hot shoe on. Could you explain how that is done?

I made the adjustment to both vertical and horizontal and it seems to focus accurately at all distances. I had to break the lock on the vertical axis and it moved so freely afterward that I resealed it with medium strength thread lock.
Thanks for the help...

Great! Well done.
I hope the camera will serve you well now. It's well designed tool, isn't it?

I'm happy with it although I've only had it a couple of days and I've only seen one roll so far... I'll be picking up 2 more rolls from the lab this afternoon.
I've heard it described as having the same FOV as looking with both eyes open... i like that.
