Not for all of us. Look at my photos and find 'family'. No, they do not exist.
Where are Henri Cartier-Bresson's family photos? Or Martin Parr's? Or Lise Sarfati's? And so on.
Don't misunderstand me, Jon. I'm not saying family is the only thing worth photographing, and most of my posted photos are definitely NOT family, but if photography is (among other things) about recording memories, then family must rate up there near the top (and I'm sure HCB and the other greats took plenty of photos of family and friends - perhaps they just chose not to show them).

R-D1s with CV 40mm SC. Actually two pictures melted together in photoshop to get the panorama.

This one is for the lovers of oldtimers: shot with R-D1s and CV 15mm.

Great stuff. Here's a couple I posted this (last?) year that I liked - couldn't decide which I liked best...

P.S. - Maybe that last one is all about "family"...

Going to India was an unspeakable experience. Here are some photos taken with Leica M3 and DR summicron 50/2 on Neopan 100 Acros and Neopan 400.

Off the top of my head, one springs to mind.

These three are some of my favorites, they were taken the first day I got the Hexanon 50/1.2. I took a lot of photos this year so the choice is difficult.
Critics are always welcome!

This one from me, I have tried to get a shot of this location a number of times in the past but something was always not quite right - but I was really pleased with this one taken a few months ago

Maybe this one is the purdyist of my photos
(Although I boosted the saturation, tweaked contrast and sharpened this picture in Photoshop, every thing including reflections are real.)
OK One more (I really cannot choose between them.) The second one shot with a Leica M4P and 35mm Summicron. It was actually taken a few years ago but this version which I really like, was post processed in PS only a few weeks ago so I think it qualifies.

No rangefinder yet (have saved half the funds for an Epson r-d1 so far...can't wait much longer)
toned B&W Nikon d200 24mm iso200 f8 37sec
Nikon D200 50mm iso200 f2 1/1000
it's hard to hide this camera... I need a smaller camera

This is one of the most outstanding examples of capturing a moment I've ever seen. The framing of the canidate around the participant's arm in the foreground, the partipant's gesture in itself, the banner on the rignt, and the crowd, all combine to make a compelling image, regardless of your political persuasion. Extremely well done!
