Talking about cool.

Nikon Df (current)
Nikon F2SB
Nikon D800
Nikon S3
Nikon F4E

Bronica RF645 would be in the list but for random mechanical struggles with the film advance lever.

...Zeiss Ikon Contaflex II (bad reputation but mine never broke - the only SLR I don't hate)

(it all went downhill from the mid-50s 🙄 )
As someone with a soft spot for them, I feel compelled to point out that, in truth, Contaflexes very rarely break. They simply won't usually work well as found, because they are rarely serviced, and hence, shutters almost invariably need cleaning. Actual breakages of the mechanism are not usual. Any Leica of the same age would be unlikely to be 100% without some servicing either, and more than a few have been fitted with replacement shutter curtains. On the other hand, once a Contaflex has been cleaned and lubricated, it will usually run pretty well without needing a single replacement part. They are a high quality SLR made of very good quality materials indeed, but are simply a chronically neglected, and under-maintained type.
Cheers,
Brett

My favorite cameras that I have owned and used:

1. Nikon F2 titanium 35mm SLR
2. Nikon F2 35mm SLR with standard view finder
3. Fuji S5 digital SLR
4. Fuji X-Pro1 mirrorless digital
5. Mamiya C220 TLR

There's nothing wrong with a f4.5 Tourist except the availability of affordable 620 film.

I have never felt the need to buy the prespooled 620 when 120 is plentiful and respoolong is cheap.

Yes, i make a big stink of it in another thread here, but thats a convenience issue, not a cost issue. respooling is a hassle but it works well.

Minolta SRT especially black
Minolta SR1s because it,s always overshadowed by the SRT.
Leica Digilux 3 ( and twin ) cheat ?
Contax / Kiev 3/4 hybrid 1936 meets 1957 madness I know plus any other of my Kontaxes ...
...and so recently Fuji X Pro 1 / 27mm

Leica M8 just edged out , which seriously amazes me .

1. Mamiya RB67. It has no limits...
2. Canon New F-1. Just perfect.
3. Nikon F2. Almost perfect
4. Canon F-1. The best built camera on this list.
5. Canon EF or Nikkormat EL. Overbuilt, beautiful, tough AE cameras of a classic era.

Not ranked in any particular order:

Nikon FM2n
Near perfect balance of size, weight, usability. The FE2 is close to the same thing with AE included; the F, F2, F3, and F6 are a notch above on build and capability but larger and heavier.

Leica M-D typ 262
The ideal Leica RF camera for me. All of the goodness that I prized in my film Ms and Barnacks, no added features I didn't want, and full digital capture workflow.

Hasselblad SWC
Of my top five cameras of all time, it's the one I've made the fewest photos with and enjoyed the most. It's a uniquely capable specialty camera with a lens that never stops amazing me.

Polaroid SX-70
... And its derivatives made recently by MiNT (SLR670m and SLR670a). A brilliant design, just the right thing when you want to produce finished work on the spot.

Leica SL
I thought back across all the different digital and film cameras I've owned and have to say that this newcomer just does it all right and better than anything comparable that preceded it. Once I started using it, I knew that if I could only have one camera, this is the one I'd pick in a heartbeat.

Honorable Mention:

Rollei 35S
Have to list one compact here. I still have the Rollei 35S that I bought in the early 1990s. It is the second of the six of them I have owned, still used occasionally, still an outstanding camera for when you want something that really works and takes up little space, gives you full explicit control of focus and exposure. An outstanding little camera.
