Your Top 5 Favorite Cameras Ever!

I love this thread but for one reason or another I've not contributed so far, but now:
Of the cameras I've used, in descending order -
1. Leica MP 0.58 viewfinder
2. Leica CL (as long as nothing has broken down in it)
3. Rollei 35 (the made in Germany variant)
4. Ricoh GR
5. Leica M9 - I would have put this first or second but I finally got tired of its clunky shutter re-cock noise and also have this sneaking suspicion that the new rostfreier sensor has a different colour output to the old one.

Also:
6. Olympus OM1
7. Makina 670

in no particular order

Hasselblad 500 series
Mamiya C330f
Arca Swiss f-line classic
KB Canham wood 5x7
Olympus OM-1

And now 1.5 years later...

Delete om-1, add Leica r6.2, It's just a little more modern and the lenses are better.

Considering replacing one of the view cameras with the Leica m5, but not ready to do that yet.

• Mamiya7II

• Fuji X-Pro 2

• Wista 45VX technical field 4x5

• Hasselblad 500C/M

• Leica M6TTL

** For nostalgia sake, my first camera -- Canon AE-1

My top 5 cameras EVER are cameras that I've acquired and actually use for been the greatest:

1. Leica M3: quality, clear viewfinder and ergonomic elegance with superlative optics
2. Leica SL: quality, clear viewfinder and ergonomic elegance with superlative optics
3. Rolleiflex 75/3.5: quality, simplicity and compactness with superlative optics
4. Olympus OM1n: smaller and as good as the Leica SL viewfinder, excellent handling
5: Leica IIIf: even smaller than Leica if you grab a collapsible lens, lots of optics to choose

Leica M3. My first love. It is the classic of all classics.
Contarex "Bullseye". Oh my God. What else is there to say?
Rolleiflex f2.8. (Various models) Never owned one - most likely never will. Its the one that got away -its the love never consummated. And that is the sweetest kind.
Nikon F801s. My first serious AF camera and over 20 years on it is still working as well as the day I bought it. Better than the F90x that replaced it.
Nikon D700. Another Nikon classic that jsut keeps going, and going, and going........
If I was allowed to choose a 6th it would be yet another Nikon - the Nikon F with plain prism. It definitely deserves a place but I have given priority to 3 cameras I have owned and used more extensively. I did in fact own a Nikon F for a couple of years but being mint new old stock in a box I simply could not bring myself to use it. In reality though it is better than either of the last of the above named cameras.

In no particluar order:

Leica M3 - sold my DS some time ago, I am missing it quite a bit
Leica M6 - I suprised myself for liking the M6 better than the M2
Rolleiflex 2.8 - any model with a Planar / Xenotar and without a meter
Minolta Autocord - love the ergonomics, love the Rokkor
Olympus Mju-II - my favourite automatic camera, cheap enough to take with me anywhere, anytime

Bubbling under:

Canon FTb - all mechanical, reliable, I like FD lenses, but it is a little loud
Pentax ME Super - big finder, tiny body, a great shooter
Olympus XA - small and quiet, but rangefinder isn't too precise

Hmm.
The top five cameras that have given me the images I most liked and gave me the performance I wanted or required (image is king)
1. Nikon FE2
2. Leica M2
3. Minolta Hi-Matic E
4. Rolleicord Vb
5. Leica M240

But like a lot of folks here, I have (or had) more cameras than that. And, I focused on the smaller format stuff. For example, my 4x5 cameras give amazing results, but the above have been most useful/productive/life-giving (income). I didn't really just use a Nikon FE-2, but a system of lenses and bodies including FM2, F2, and even an EM, later a D90 and D700. But the FE-2 was my first Nikon body from which the system was built. I became a rangefinder afficionado because of the Minolta Hi-Matic E. I couldn't believe the quality of the images from its lens. I also dabbled in the Rollei SLR35 system (SL35, SL35E, 2002). Ah, I could go on....
