It might be that "optimized" just means "within the parameters of the design constraints", rather than "optimal performance".

SONY has financial problems these days, so maybe some "projects" will be closed to reduce the losses.

perhaps. however i was addressing the point that 'sony doesnt care about a few hundred rf users'. not sure why they would go out of their way to direct a statement sure to be fully dissected to an audience they dont care about. could be: theyre stupid; they do in fact care about legacy glass users; they estimate that audience to be significant enough to merit attention; some combination of these. guess we'll find out in a month or so!

They've had financial trouble for years and the A7r itself was twice cancelled. They do everything from playstations to movies.

My interest in this camera is the hope that Sony will continue their relationship with Zeiss and slap that 36mp full frame sensor into a Zeiss ikon body!

Throw in a 35 f/1.2 or 35 f2 and then 75 or 90 and you would have a nice little tiny lens kit with a powerhouse camera. Truth be told, I loved shooting the A7 and A7r with these tiny RF lenses. Not only did it feel good in the hand, they were easy to work with and focus as well as putting out amazing results. Anyone who is saying this lens will not do good on the A7 or A7r do not know how to use them correctly on such a camera (or are trying to knock it down for Leica’s sake)."

This is a fantastic idea.
I'm going to go start threads for every camera I'm not interested in.
Personally, as far as the A7 goes...I'd have preffered a NEX-7 form factor, but hell, dude...24 or 36 MP full frame sensor adaptable to all my current lenses for $1700 or $2200 respectively? Shut up and take my money, Sony!

How many of you that like the A7 have actually had your hands on it? Many of you will be shocked (and not in a good way) once you try it out.

Where did I say I was giving a review? and you quoted things I didn't say? Nice try. I simply asked a question. Those of us that have tried the camera know it feels much different than anything on the market. The shutter is very clunky (not just loud, but strangly undampended and hollow sounding). Some won't care, but some will. It'll be a shock for anyone who is used to a Leica (well, except for the M8's shutter). My point is that people who want to buy this blindly could be in for a shock once they actually handle it.

I shoot two Pentax LX's, and the first generation of Pentax DSLRs...there's very little with a louder shutter than those.
And frankly, I don't care if it has spikes on it covered in tabasco sauce. I've seen the output, which is what matters. As long as it's not physically uncomfortable to hold and physically painful to use, I want one. I mean, I shoot a Medalist for crying out loud. My tolerance for unergonomic cameras is fairly high 🙂
i still have my M2 for when a clunky monstrosity is a poor choice.

You have no clue how others will like the camera, or shutter, but a post about your impressions is perfectly valid.
We pretty much all know the shutter is loud. It's been brought up many times.
A real post about where you saw the camera, and all the things you noticed, for your perspective is welcome.
"You will be SHOCKED", drama is not terribly helpful, sorry.

Actually, I do somewhat... I saw many people's reactions at the EXPO. Many liked it, many had the same complaints I had.
Ok, fair enough. I won't comment on the glaring issue that I saw in the camera. It's not only loud by the way. Shutter feel is important to some Leica users, so it is relevant. I hope you love it, but I would caution that you get your hands on it before buying. What is wrong with saying that?
I'm at work when I'm on RFF. If you want to ask how much I photograph, I have plenty of people on this forum that know me personally and know how much I photograph. Why do you keep assuming you know anything about me?
I'm sorry to have offended you by saying I didn't like a camera after actually holding it in my hands.
