What have you just BOUGHT?

Hama Traveller Compact Pro. Ex-demo, spotted oddly enough in the window of a kiosk in Otley bus station. As if i need another tripod, but at £20 it was too good to pass up.

A few years ago I found a brand new silver Bogen 3011 tripod minus the head at a thrift store...I clearly didn't need another tripod but for $15 USD I wasn't going to leave it there...I matched it with a Manfrotto 3030 head from ebay...it gets used a lot...

25 shots in to my first roll of film, Fuji 400 color as couldn't wait until the Kentmere 100 that I ordered from Freestyle to arrive, so went over to my local CVS and bought a 3 roll packet of what they had in stock. Planning on going to a classic car show on Monday and shoot a couple rolls of Kentmere 100 and maybe a roll or Fuji 400. Must say that I'm really enjoying the simple single frame line viewfinder.

Dear Board,

I bought this little chunky monkey. It's really a neat little camera. I was kind of surprised by its heft given its rather small size for an SLR. The good thing is that everything except the self-timer seems to work, but that just might be operator error. Even the meter is very close to my Gossen Luna-Lux SBC.

So, it's loaded with some Washi-S, and I hope to run a roll through it over the Labor Bay weekend.

These are very nice cameras. The "10 and 2" focus knobs take some getting used to, though. As for the self-timer, if it doesn't work, don't tempt fate by trying to get it to work.

I bought a black-front B+W 30mm push-on Yellow-Green filter for my Agfa Super Sillette. I only need two of this type/make of Green and 2 Orange and both my Agfa's will be sorted.

Sigma 2/24 DG DN Contemporary for Leica L - Chiaro Pro 62mm UV filter. Let's see if this combo will make me happy. Cheers, OtL

The DG DN lenses are great. Well built, great optics and very inexpensive for what they are. I have the f3.5 version of the 24mm and it is a sweet little lens. In 65:24 mode on my S1R it has almost the exact FOV as the XPan with the 45mm.

How do you like the 35? Is it the I series or the Art? I've gone Art from 50mm and up and I series for wide angles (24 and 20) but I don't have a 35. Been debating one and think I'd go with I series for the smaller size.

I have fallen under the spell of classic German lenses (the ones other than Leica - have been through that particular very expensive phase already. :) ). I just picked up a nice Meyer Optik Primotar 135mm f3.5 (the early "silver" aluminium bodied one). The glass is in beautiful condition but the aluminium body was a little corroded when I got it (though not so corroded that 10 minutes of careful work with a small pad of 0000 steel wool could not put to rights). Its focus and aperture mechanisms are silky smooth. It looks somewhat like the Zeiss 135mm f4 Triotar that I also had (this one required complete disassembly but is now in fine fettle too)e. I have been busy with post winter spring cleaning and repairs around home but hope to take it out soon to give it a run. Even now it sits in my camera bag, locked and loaded. Next week's weather forecast looks good so then may be the right time. Examples from the internet.

Some weeks back I also found a nice Meyer Optik Orestor 100mm f2.8. This is a surprisingly small lens for a 100mm f2.8 and has an excellent reputation. For much the same reason as mentioned above this one also has not really yet been put through its paces by me. Soon my precious................... soon! :p

Dear Board,

I just bought a black Nikkormat FTN and chrome and black Nikkormat FT via auction for the 24mm f2.8 AI and 28mm f3.5 S lenses that hung off their fronts. I have no idea if the cameras work but I suspect that at least one of them will. I'm more than pleased that I got the pair of lenses, along with the cameras in cases, for less than 24mm f2.8 AI typically retails for in bargain condition.

I already had 35mm, 105mm, 135mm, 200mm and 300mm covered with Nikkors. I now am only missing an 85mm lens to complete what would have been a nice collection of lenses for my grandfather's Nikon FTN. He used the 5.8cm f1.4 S that he bought with the camera shortly after I was born almost exclusively.

I truly enjoy digital photography, but there is something to be said for stepping back in time. Especially as I age.

I would lay odds that both of those Nikkormats will work just fine. Maybe new seals, and Wein cells to keep the meters accurate. They're tough little beasts and seem to withstand neglect very well.

An Orestor! I have been looking for one for years, an Orestor 135/2.8 in Exakta mount. Beautiful lens.

You will enjoy it.
I already am enjoying it. Well, looking at it, cuddling it, stroking it, polishing it. The family cat is getting jealous. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Mind you, I do not often polish the cat so she has nothing really to be jealous about.

I think this is an honest review:

I've been using it with the Leica SL2S for a few months now and like the lens. It's a 'modern' lens and sharp across the frame but does not show a lot of 'character'. In comparison with the f1.4 Art lens, it's a lot smaller and lighter. Cheers, OtL
