I have one of the Minolta Rokkor 40/2 lenses and I really like it. I have three problems with using it on the M8. First, it brings up the wrong frame lines can anyone tell me how you can modify the lens to make it bring up the right frame lines? Second it doesn't specify a filter size. Can someone tell me what size filter it takes (I may have found the answer in that the lens shade says 40.5mm)? Third, what would you code this lens to?

Filter size is the 40.5mm you found.
I don't have answers for the other questions.

Filter size is 40.5 you can file the lug to bring up the 35 frame, easy to do Google it.

Les,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I found the instructions, filed only a teeny bit off the trailing edge of the right lug and wallah 35mm frame lines. Got it on filter so only one left to go. As they say two out of three anin't bad!

I have never seen coding info listed for the 40/2. I think you're probably better off calling a dealer and asking about that particular lens.

The M-Rokkor is nothing more or less than a Summicron 40/2. If there's coding for the Summi, there's coding for the Rokkor.

It isn't listed. The closest lens is the Summicron 35/2. I will probably give that a try.
