I should not have visited this thread. Thanks God I already have the 28 2.8 ASPH which snookers me for the Summicron, I hope.

The Elmarit ASPH is every bit as good at every aperture but 2.0

I tested the Elmarit ASPH against the Summicron, was hard pressed to see any difference between the two Leica lenses in prints.

The 28/2 'Cron ASPH is truly a magical lens, particularly on a film M.

This lens has become my mainstay lens. I have come to regard the 28mm as my normal lens and the 50mm focal length as a short telephoto, the same way some would think of the 75mm focal length.

If you have a 28mm and a 50mm, you have probably 90% or more of possible shooting situations covered in my experience. These two lenses would make an outstanding all around two lens kit.

After contemplating about this lens for quite few years and owning CV28/3.5 and Elmarit-M 28 ASPH, I finally made up my mind and ordered one (v1, CLAed by Leica). I should have it early next week and I can hardly wait to test it out.

In the meantime, I'd love to see more photos from you guys. Please show me your favorite Summicron 28mm shots!
