Edit: Ooops, just noticed after I posted that this is for film cameras with the 28mm Summicron. This photo was done with that lens but on an M9 I think. I would delete if I could but there doesn't seem to be a delete option. Feel free to do so.
No worries; the OP started early with M9 photos, and now the thread has been moved to a more general M camera/lens location!

Very nice images. I particularly like the first two and especially the skin tones. Very film like.

So, I actually thought this lens was stolen out of my bag at work but I held off filing an insurance claim for about 2 months or so. On the first day of our covid19 distancing I was cleaning my painting studio and found a small canon pouch. I almost didnt even open it, but I did...and ALAS! There was my Summicron!! Its been mostly glued to my MP240 since. Heres a few from the backyard. Not much subject matter other than my son, but while looking at some Sam Abell books while he played, it inspired me to try a couple things.

All on the MP240

Inside The Venetian hotel, indeed on an upper floor. What appears to be blue sky and clouds is really a high domed ceiling well above the "buildings" lining the canal and piazza. Las Vegas

I love this lens (V2). I really do. It's small, smooth to operate, bokeh is great and simply just works for people who love 28mm.

I'm surprised by the lack of a big chain of images from this wonderful optics.

Quite honestly I am as well. It’s an incredibly useful focal length, reasonably fast, in a small package. I’ve seen so many people say they shoot 28/50 as their preferred pairing, yet this is quite a small thread. Especially when the v1 can be found under 2k.

28mm is my favorite focal length and I have been using the Zeiss Biogon 2.8/28 for many years. The Summicron is special though -as is its price... I was surprised to see on BH that there are two versions now: one made in Germany and the other in Portugal with a price difference of $500. I wonder whether that's just the labor cost? Cheers, OtL

Labor cost only. Its because of some restrictions or side effects of the trade war between the US and Europe (especially Germany in this case). No finger pointing who is responsible for what - the lenses made in Portugal are just Leicas reaction to that to circumvent the higher import taxes into the US. You can‘t buy them in Germany.

This smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty at the New York New York casino, Las Vegas, is the model used for the US Postage stamp, not the original statue in New York!
