Distortion stronger at closer focus and more visible with architectures (see the last picture).

Thanks for the mention. I'll go ahead and post that image and a couple others shot wide open with the pre-asph lux.
I bought mine from a former photog at my newspaper. Getting a pretty good deal on it, I originally figured I would end up selling the thing after playing with it for a bit. But it has really grown on me. (especially after I sent the lens off to Leica for a new lens mount)

Distortion is clearly visible, but only if you are into non-people-shots.
have a look at the bottom of this image (and at the lamp on the left).

Those vertical lines look more like perspective distortion than barrel distortion.

Iv had my 35 1.4 Summilux for a couple of weeks on a M3. So far so good. Not being able to frame it in the viewfinder is somewhat annoying but it just gives me a reason to get another body down the road. Im thinking a M6 would be a nice companion. . Im really glad I got this 35 1.4 lens as my first leica lens. It's such a nice little lens and I really appreciate the "look". The images Iv gotten so far are very nice. And so far have had great success with the combo. Nice Images in this thread . I hope to start posting soon.

I currently use a late version pre asph lux (titan) and it is...different.

It has its own look wide open (that glow) but stopped down to F2 it is almost a different lens. It sharpens up a whole lot.

If you're looking for a lens that is very sharp wide open, this lens isn't for you. But if you're looking for something alittle different, something with alittle more character, this might be the lens for you.
