Anyone out there using medium-format RF for street-shooting

my oh my, louie. i don't think the mamiya's perished but i am sure someone might have bronzed them by now. smashing bit of work (like everything he's done).

Home build camera using a Super Angulon 47/5.6 with Graflex back and magazines for 6x9, 6x7 and 6x6.
The empty Graflex frame can be used to create a front/body for other lenses
(The Linhof sheet-film holder is kind of to thick for the Graflex system).

I used my Linhof 220 in the last holidays for street shooting beside a Zorki 1. More people were interested in the Zorki than in the Linhof. Maybe because the Linhof is a black one?

I used to enjoy shooting with a Century Graphic. I had a Brooks-Plaubel Veriwide 100 for a few years but it's really just scale focusing. I done a lot of street shooting, still do, with a Rolleiflex composing with the sportsfinder in the hood. Just below the eyepiece of the sportsfinder is a little lens which is focsed on the center of the groundglass via a small mirror in the hood. I usually focus with the split image rangefinder in the center of the ground glass, then move my eye up to the sportsfinder window.

I'd ask whether that counts as a rangefinder, but today is no gear talk day.

Sure it is and one of the best.
Used my friend's 12tc once and i was instantly hooked.

The old style knob wind Graflex 8 exposure roll back makes a negative which is a few millimeters longer than the later RH-8 lever wind back.

While I can't tell you what would be a good RF, I can tell you that I tend to shoot strictly in Manual Focus as of late with my street shots in NYC. While it may be a pain the ass to get used to shooting in this method, especially with things moving so quickly in NY, once you do get the hang of it, the control you will have is unmatched. I use a Mamiya 6 now and then for street shooting. And Rolleiflex sometimes too.
If i really feel like it I take my Linhof technika 70.
I did a lot street photography with a Bronica RF645. BUt I sold that one after I got the mamiya. I like square better. BUt as a camera I liked the Bronica better.
