I know where one of those is sitting with the Hexanon 50mm in a shop for $1499, it's been tempting me every time I see it...
What, am I the only one who knows she's waiting for you? And if not you, someone else will. And they will be a very hot cute couple. And you won't be able to make any claims against anyone but yourself. Mark my words.

I just can't justify the cost, although I could resell without a loss.

I was half-way through my coffee and donut when I remembered this thread. M2 with my new favorite donut - vegan orange olive oil from Do-Rite Chicken and Donuts in Chicago. Wow! Going vegan definitely lowers one’s culinary standards, especially for pastries, but I can’t imagine a better donut. Yummy as an M2.

Late comer to this post. Just saw it. Well - I must have looked before, as I posted a "like"...

Nothing downmarket about a vegan donut like that one. Or your M2, my long lost First Leica Love! almost mint, with an Elmar 50/2.8, bought in 1986, sold in 1991 when my architectural practice hit a recession-induced downside and we had to have some quick $$ to keep the doors open. I still kick myself over this...

I haven't forgotten the ELW, I've just not shot it for a while. And, being a Brit, I'd drink tea anyway.
At this very moment, as I type my comment, I am sipping fresh, fragrant and wonderful caraway tea. And for that matter, the Nikkormat EL/w is one of Nikon's toughest cameras, and any reliability comparison between it and the Nikon FE that came after it, won't do the latter any favors.
