Here's my growing Ukraine family... family portrait taken in the back yard. Our neighbor got a chuckle out of watching me set this one up... hard to explain some things 😛 The Zorki has a newly acquired J-8. The Kiev has a sharp Helios-3 and the Fed has a slower but also sharp Industar-61 L/D.... one more Zorki is on its way to me, to join its brother...

I'm waiting for the arrival of an early Zorki 4, the kind that's the same as a Zorki 3S with the addition of a self-timer. I think it was the blue paint job that pushed me over the edge. I must say, I've been having thoughts of a TLR lately, like the Minolta Autocord offered by Meakin. I've never tried medium format, it's awfully tempting. But then I think, where will it all end? 😉

I've just purchased a pretty looking 6x6 Super Ikonta III. It's on its way already. I'm burning of curiosity.
It cost me a scary amount of 20 (twenty) euro +5,50 shipping.
OK - it has a Novar-Anastigmat 75/3.5, no Tessar.

i really do think it's a good looking meter (from pics only) and look forward to using it.
i'm having a heck of a time trying to find info and pricing info on it.
do you know any sites that might help?
my searches have turned up lots of references to the metrastar but not alot of hard info.

Ok here I go with my Zorki 4 and a 9cm Elmar, a 3,5 cm Elmar and my Sunpak 7s flash for my oldtimers cameras without hot shoe.

Had to do a couple of quick shots this morning. First of the back, then from the front and finally with my little old $2 Sunpak flash. I rarely use flash, but I always test each camera to make sure I can and the ol' 5 does that just fine as well.

OK it was matu (Pablo) who got me to post pics of my Elmar 5cm. 🙂 This lens was made in 1949 and is remarkably good, I have tested it against my current Elmar-M 50mm/f2.8 and at f8 I cannot see any difference except that the modern lens has more contrast. These old Elmars are just exceptional lenses!
The first pic also shows my tabletop tripod, which I like a lot. The legs are the Manfrotto 3007, the ballhead is a Slik SBH-120 which has separate panning rotation, and of course the M Arca/Swiss adapter doubles as a QR plate for a ballhead equipped with an A/S quick release clamp. BTW, legs were $14.95 and ballhead was $29.50 🙂.
The second pic (a close-up) shows one of my Marumi adapters and also the arrangement I have on the front of the lens. I keep a light yellow (1/2 stop) B+W filter on the front and that fixes the contrast problem. I use a regular 39mm filter fitted to a Leica SOOGZ 36/39mm filter adapter, then inside that I have a Leica VOOLA ring that allows you to set the aperture very easily - you can see the "teeth" of the VOOLA on each side of the aperture knob. By just unscrewing the knurled nut at the bottom of the SOOGZ, I can change the lens aperture by just rotating the SOOGZ then re-tightening the nut - no need to take the filter off - works a treat! 😀 Then (historically incorrect I know but it works well) I have a current Leica 12550 lens hood on the front screwed into the filter. This arrangement works quite well!
