Camera and Coffee

But... Denis, you too ???

This is starting to look like a Leica M give-away ! 😀

Arrrghhh.... I've been working very hard these past couple of months... Got some dough to show for it, and since I don't have the time for a vacation, I thought I'd get myself a nice present instead...
I'd trade it for a week in Barcelona with my family, though 😉

Old School Point & Shoot

Old School Point & Shoot

Friday's Guinness antidote to the morning coffee and an early version of Zeiss "point and shoot." Late model Contax I with 28mm f/8 Tessar, Zeiss 432/5 2.8cm finder; this is an everyday user (okay, beater🙂). Depth of field at f/16 is around 2' to infinity, aperture range f/8 to f/32. The 28mm is the only non-coupled lens Zeiss made for the Contax. Zeiss said it had "depth of field from Jena to Dresden" and didn't feel that coupling the rangefinder was necessary.

Aloha Friday!

Better late than never...

Better late than never...

Here's my R2 with 15/4.5 mounted (with its VF). CV 35/1.7 and and 75/2.5 getting warmed up for the next serving. 😉

Man, you are "old school:" do you expect us to believe that POS actually works? 😀 You need to jump into the 20th century, at least! Get a camera, bro'...

Did you hack in, or are you a legitimate member? Please, excuse me this period of transition while I aspire to a Canonet 28

Sorry, but it's really never been about what you shoot, but if you shoot...

Your gallery is nice, but a little weak. I'll stay with my "POS" 😀

Hey Schaubild!

Wow just had a look at your gallery and saw the swan picture and bridge picture both taken with the Helvetar...cool....have to have a search for some more examples.

Cheers!

"I get the cans, they have the little fizz-ball in them..."

...you mean a Widget.... 😉

I see that one of the holders of the patent is in Mount Merrion in Dublin. I had heard that some of the research that went in to this invention was done at University College, Cork.

They take their drinking seriously in Ireland, although I can hardly believe that smoking is now banned in pubs there! 😱 Another tremendous "invention" is the ergonomically superb Irish pint glass. With its beautifully curved and smooth increase in diameter moving from the bottom of the glass to the top, this glass fits a hand range of 5th percentile female to 95th percentile male. Perfection!!

Oh? Did I forget to mention that I GOT A FREE LEICA M6 WETZLAR in the mail this week? After my luck finding the Nikon M last week I decided to share the good fortune. I listed the "free to good home, One Leica M Body Cap with camera attached". Denis is the only one who replied.

Ah, Guinness, the focusing-fluid Supreme 🙂
It's that time of year to stock up, as they go on sale before St. Patrick's
Day.
Here's a shot I made up for last year 😛

Guinness in bottles or cans is kind of like the Contax/Leica argument: it's hard to make a bad choice between the two. The bottle I had yesterday was in that "all-time best of all beer category," which is a free beer -- a friend bought it. 😀

Nice shot of the camera/flag/essential fluid, H.

Which camera did you give away, Brian? That's what I believe you are saying, right? And you GOT another, WITH an "M"?

I was lucky to be the first to see Brian's offer for the Leica body cap plus "mystery camera attached"... I sure could use that body cap!
And yes, the camera turned out to be a fully working Leica M6 Wetzlar Classic.... I'll pay a bit more for the shipping, but what the heck! It'll be a nice paperweight.... or a doorstop. But, it seems it's black, so it doesn't really fit among my other stuff on shelves. Maybe I'll dip it into a bucket of yellow paint.

Yep, I was lucky that day.... REAL lucky...

Dunno what happened to Brian to offer it for free, but I sure jumped at the opportunity! A really nice Lieca M body cap... for free!

Felt guilty afterwards, so I sent him a nice movie on DVD 😀

No, Frank - not a TTL, but a black M6 Wetzlar Classic.. Don't need no steenkin' flash with my Leicas 😉
Serviced by Sherry two months ago...
Brian says it looks and feels to be 9.5 out of 10...
And, yes, it was a photo.net catch....
Planning to stick Ralph's black Ultron on it once it arrives....

I must publicly thank Brian for helping me out with this deal, since the seller was a bit reluctant to ship to Croatia. Well, not actually, but there were other issues.... He offered 10 days' inspection period, so I asked Brian to check it out for me.

There, you have me blurting out everything... And I wanted to keep it secret and just post a photo once it arrives 🙁

Denis

Congratulations, Denis. Very nice of Brian to assist, too. Looking forward to its "Camera and Coffee" debut 🙂
