Well I've got a confession to make: the shot was made with a digital (MDFI generously lend me their D100 prior to their next assignment) and the cup was empty. 😱
Speaking about airshow, there will be one in Melbourne next week. What a coincidence. I actually worked on a project for P&W Canada, not Papa Pratt. Maybe one day I can be a pround employee of UTC.

No great prequel really. It was a serious relationship, so everything was on the up and up. No great story of conquest or anything.

New arrival - with many thanks to our own Brian, who checked that everything's OK before passing it on to me.
I'll have to get used to the light meter, though... Strange to see LEDs in the viewfinder - at least for me. I'll also try using Lutz's "sling" for a while - the camera came with it attached.
I've shot a roll, and will have it developed later today. I used the "sling", and it takes some getting used to - feels like you have the camera "glued" to your hand. Could come handy, though... Also, with it on the camera, there's no need for the grip. I might even grow to like this way of carrying the camera. Not practical in situations when you're expected to do a lot of handshaking, though 😉

Very nice indeed. My Rapid Grip came Saturday and makes the camera pretty nice to handle. I will have to update my photo on this thread.

D2: Nice Contax IIa! It does look new. The lines on the IIa are so clean.
Good thing my Selenium Meter works on the IIIa!
Denis, I have First hand knowledge of what a great camera that you got! and the LED's are right where they should be, just where they would be on a Nikon F2S.
The finger grip "was" attached to the camera when I took delivery of it, Denis had to re-attach it. I booted my M2 out of its leather case to check out the M6 Wetzlar. I was not going to leave a mark on that black beauty. That finger grip might be quick and comfy, but it is not very re-assuring!
BTW: I am glad the Red Dot did not turn Black...

Joking aside, the price was OK, and the camera has been CLA'd recently by Sherry, so all in all it was a good deal, which Brian only confirmed after a test roll.
The camera was purchased on photo.net, from a regular contributor/member there.
Funny, it turns out a friend of mine (also in Croatia) purchased a VC 24mm lens from the same person a month ago 🙂

d2, the meter only arrived today so my experience with it is zero, except that it matches perfectly with my pilot 2 meter which i quite like.
isn't the metraphot a russian meter?
the metrastar is german, made by the same folks that make the leica meter.
it is incredibly solid, almost feels like one piece of metal and a good size, way smaller than a luna pro and not that much more of a handful than the pilot.
