Camera and Coffee

Nice adptation of a FG case there Frank. Nice looking camera. So whats in the bottle, and do you have any of those smokes Denis uses to go with it 🙂

Oh yea Pherdinand, pick on me about a yellow cast on my 35CC, but say nothing about Franks photo full of yellow!!! I see how you are! I know where your'e coming from now! I got it!

JK 🙂

Denis, thanks for the info on the leather. How 'bout a purple Kiev ?? 🙂 I have some patches of brown leather at home, they may suit the Kiev 4a pretty well 🙄

Frank, that's indeed a great looking classy ! But I join myself to the query about what's in that glass 😛

In the glass: a nice-tasting non-deluxe scotch called Famous Grouse. (I can't afford the good stuff.)

I'm a B+W film die-hard, so when I take a colour pic with a digital camera, it's simply to illustrate, and I have no artistic intentions whatsoever.

The yellow I was referring to in jest was the yellow on the lens, and in the bottle 😀

G2 in La Habana

G2 in La Habana

La Habana is more for Cuba Libre than coffee.

So here's my G2 trying hard to hide from a D60 in a bodega in La Habana last sunday.

Hi Russ !!! I never realized that in fact I didn't reply your last post, sorry and thanx for the info !! 😀

Yep, I guess that without a Starbucks near that incredible waterfall will have to do 😉

Oscar, a bit more clarification on the location of Russ's fantastic waterfall... There are several of these along the Oregon state side of the Columbia River between Portland & Hood River. The concrete bridge carries Highway 30, formerly the main highway east-west but now a fragmented tourist route, replaced by Interstate 84. The whole Columbia Gorge is well worth visiting if you're ever in the area. And due to the strong winds often funneled through, this has become a major locaion for sail surfboards. 🙂

Doug2, your new ancient Contax does look very clean in the photo. That's the film-wind knob on the front? Pretty strange, and it makes me wonder if anyone ever made a camera with lever-wind on the front? Gotta say too the Voigtlander Vitessa's plunger-wind is just as odd!

Doug2, that is a very very nice looking camera and case. You've got to be happy with that! How many things that old can one still find that still look that good? I'd say that was an exceptional find!

Doug, just a week ago we discussed here about a konica non-interchangeable rangefinder that i've noticed on e-bay...that camera had a front-face lever wind 🙂

Doug2: one more from those pimple-faced bricks?🙂 nice...
I'm still waiting for my IIIa...🙁 i wonder why i payed 40$ shipping costs - maybe it's a special delivery by the olympic swimming champion all across the atlantic?

Thanks for the hint Doug ! Must say I love how this forum is sometimes a window to the world, with people from so many different places showing a bit of their own view from the window.

By looking at the RFF map you quickly get the idea, even though there seem to be obvious clusters... I wonder if it has something to do with the water or something... 🙄

Pherdi, even if you got a tracking number, sometimes things go like this (Brian's Nikon F2+35/2)

Your item was delivered in CANARY ISLAND at 1:09 pm on November 06, 2004. Delivery information is on file at the local Post Office.

I WISH I'd be in the Canary Islands just now, with +25ºC at the beach and not more than 1000 Kms north, in Barcelona, with the chill we're having since a couple days ago 😀

Window = viewfinder? 😀

Hell, we can rename our OS to Microsoft Viewfinders 😀

Taffer - YOU are complaining about chill? in Barcelona? What can we say up here, then.

I want a job that is part time here part time in Senegal. From october till april i want to be in Senegal.
Or something similar.

By the way, for those 40$ i did not even get a freakin' tracking number! It's insured, though.
Ok, it was sent only a week ago. I think i'm too impatient.

Pherdinand,
Well, the Olympic swimmer got arrested for drunk driving, so the camera will be a little delayed ~ ; - )

Just change your phrase to " I AM a collector, I AM a collector" and keep them all!!! Why not, you OWN them! They are PAID FOR! You'll get some bucks for them and just SPEND IT on something that you do not own already anyway!!!
