Camera and Coffee

Heritage and Lineage.

(Socke, this cup of coffee is for you)

The scary thing looking at these cameras is how much closer in age the STL1000 is to the Prominent than it is to the R2. I've used an STL1000 since High-School.

Voigtlander Prominent, Bessa R2, Argus/Cosina STL1000.

My Grandfather's Leica IIIa; it arrived a few days ago as a surprise along with the rest of my Dad's Leica gear. It's nice that it has survived into the third generation, although it's about to receive an ostrich or lizard skin recovering. On the camera is a 35/3.5 Summaron; in the pile is a 50/3.5 Elmar, 50/2 Summitar, and a 135/4.5 Hektor. I'll have to get the Kingslake book out to see which Zeiss designs Leitz plagiarized with these lenses :)D relax -- I might only be kidding....) And the Friday night martini, anchovy stuffed olives, and beans to grind for tomorrow morning...long live "Camera and Coffee"!!!

That's too much :)))) I love it!

Natalia,

I just visited your site again. I really, really like that you quoted Maitani on your "About Me" page. I wish we could coax him out of retirement for a digital OM and digital Oly RF.

Yeah, Natalia! Great to see you back... Been wondering how you had fared with the hurricane and flooding.

I know what you mean, Trius. Thanks, guys, for keeping us in your thoughts. We are travelling to Russia this summer - yea!!!! Then we'll be moving to North Carolina ...

Glad to see you back. Taking the Bessa to Russia?

Seems a number of RFF'rs have been moving to North Carolina. It's nice there. It's still the South... no Cajun though...

Kuda kuda kuda? Where are you going in Russia? I miss it (I used to live in Vladivostok and in Yaroslavl').

Oftheherd: good to be here...always.

Wow, Stuart! Yaroslavl' is only 1 hour away from my home town Kostroma! I am going to see my folks there.

Trio of Black Yashicas Mg-1 from jvx, GTN from the local Craiglist for 20 bucks and my GT fresh from overhaul by the G'man. Not in the pic is the lens set and finder that came with the GT.

Built over 40 years apart.

Late Nikon SP with Nikon S3-2000. Both have distance scales in Meters. The Sp also features the longer advance lever of the Nikon F, and more "rings" on the film counter cover. It is probably from the last batch of Nikon SP's made.

Forgot to include the coffee, but here's a family portrait. These are the cameras that were my dad's, helpfully photographed by my D70s. The Coolpix 950 and Canonet were not present for the portrait.
