Canada canadian rff meeting - May 19, 20, and 21, 2007.

Here's my work schedule for the weekend.

Friday: from 9 PM to 4 AM at Bar Passeport

Saturday: from 6 PM to 4 AM at Bar Passeport (yes, I'll be on zombie mode for a few hours Sunday morning)

For those who'd like to join me at Passeport, it opens at 10 PM and is located at 4156 St-Denis, just South of Rachel. By Metro, get off at the Mont-Royal station and walk one block west (left when coming out of the station), then 2 blocks South (turn left on St-Denis).

Friday night is usually fun but not much people. Music is alternative with some electro, EBM and new wave.

Saturday night is usually like a big party. The music is EBM, industrial, new wave... There are more goths on Saturdays but it's not a real gothic night (that's on Wednesdays). You don't have to dress in black and no one bites (unless you ask for it!).

Cover is 5$ after 11 PM but if you mention you're with RFF, you won't have to pay it and it'll be easier to find me. Anyway, I should be at the door and you can rely on my avatar to spot me.

(I'll be wearing a fuzzy brownish hat.)
I've seen that hat. Someone drowned a poor beaver. It was like, 50cents at a garage sale, right?

Everyone please protect Frank, as the Montréal style police will not be amused.

:D :D :D :D

Okay, I buried the drowned beaver hat in my back yard!

I'm pretty sure I've got a place to stay with Guy (grainhound) at a hostel, but I haven't heard from Guy in a while. I'll send a pm. Dave, where are you staying?

Frank, I think he mentioned in an email to me that he didn't or couldn't use the PM here. Email may be better.

This is shaping up to be an interesting weekend. Marc, I haven't been to a club in a decade or three, & look forward to seeing & hearing what they're like these days (veteran of San Francisco’s Fillmore & Avalon Ballroom in the 60s...). I should mention that Joe fixed my PM problem & I've sent Frank a PM. I'm planning to meet him at the train station. Just looked at the posts again, & it looks like we'll have a group there.

Just a quick note: I'm working Friday, so won't be there to greet those of you who arrive in the afternoon.

However, in the evening we should get together. There's a little pub a few minutes from the Berri-UQAM Metro stop called "Le Cheval Blanc"; we can head there for a beer or two and then if you're interested, continue on to Passeport. I haven't been there on a Saturday night, but on Friday the music is good.

A note to everyone: Whenever it is you arrive, please give me a shout on the mobile phone at 514-999-5549. And, I would appreciate an email or a text message so that I have your phone numbers; this will make it easier to co-ordinate events!

The plan as it stands right now for Saturday morning is Marché Jean-Talon and Petite Italie (Metro orange line, stop Jean-Talon). This weekend is a special event, Les jardins en fête, so I expect that it'll be busy there. Afterwards, we'll see what people are into; maybe hit the old city (Vieux Montreal) or rue Ste-Catherine?

Bah! My plans have been officially scuttled. I live on a farm and the weather is finally suitable for planting - and since I am spending all of next week at InterOp conference, I've got to do all my planting this week-end.

Glad there is a still a crowd going, hope there will be another one in the near future (like July, when I'm just sitting watching stuff grow) :)

Hub and I are located just across the river in the Hull sector.... I am sure at some point we can come up with a cunning plan.

What kind of farm? Any big clunky animals on it?

Big clunky animals can be quite photogenic. As well as delicious...

Well, my neighbour has Black Angus and as he owns pastures on either side of me they often wander through my pastures...

I only have chickens, ducks and bees (can get any less big and clunky).
