Canon LTM Canon Rangefinder Lens Price Guide

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I am myself "RF freak enough" to like my Canon RF 1.8/85... :) But to be honest, my favorite fast telephoto is the Zeiss 1.4/85 SLR. Very compact as well. And dual helicoil mounting. Sharpness both excellent.

Canon Lens Price Guide

auctions yesterday:
35/1.5 with caps and box, looks excellent ... 471 USD/ 353 EUR, 18 bids
25/3.5 with caps and box, without finder, looks very good, 455 USD/ 341 EUR, 16 bids
50/1.4 Ser. 1 with low profile filter and rear cap, looks very good, 240 USD/ 180 EUR, 13 bids
100/3.5 black (last series; this is quite rare), box, without caps, 283 USD/ 212 EUR, 15 bids

I think all buyers paid moderate prices

The 50/1.4 was at $177 90 minutes prior to closing. That is when I had to sign off and play daddy so I threw in a bid of $237. There was only one bid after mine. Not a lot of snipers out there.

There are some nice 50/1.8s currently listed.

100/2, incl. caps (dunno if original), brown case. S/N 13891. Excellent barrel, cleaning marks! USD 305 (EUR 235). Not high a price for such a rare lens.

the seller did a poor job in his write up of the lens. too many negative words.
i had that lens for 300 till the last 10 seconds, when someone decided they wanted it more.

Hi Joe, you never win an auction with a "round" limit. 308, 312 but no 300. I don't like it too to be outbid for 1 or 3 $... happens to me 5-6x in the last two months, more often than winning...
But this 2/100 was probably (if the cleaning marks were not too much) decent. I didn't bid because at the moment I have 5 or 6 RF-telephotos incl. the very similar 1.8/85. Instead of I will look for a 1.5/35 some time, if decent priced, because I only have two 35mm's :)

cheers Frank

i also have a fast 85 the f2 and, while i had the cash on hand, i decided that 300 would be my limit.
i don't think i really wanted the lens all that badly.

and like you, i want to get a few more 35's. i have the chrome 35/2.8 and the 35/2 now.
i'm thinking of going for the slower 35's, hoping for different looks.

is there a price list for non-canon/serenar lenses? Joe mentioned (in another thread) that I might want to check out a J-8 for my Canon 7s, and that got me looking for other less-expensive non-Canon options. Specifically, I'm now just browsing for a 50mm in case I need another, but down the line I'd expect to want to pick up a 24mm or 28mm anyway.

stet, the price list in the first post in this thread is the one that we refer to. I don't know of any others.

I was also bidding on that 100/2 but I'm so happy my bid was too low. After it, I spotted and hit a Canon Powershot A20 (digital, sorry...) advertised as 'canon camera' for $37 buy-it-now, and the next day found Huw's Canon 50/1.2 for 75 pounds at photo.net.

A Canon weekend :)

excellent oscar!

i saw the 50 but was not sure about it. i was mostly interested because of the price.
and here i thought you were being quiet all weekend...

joe

Glad you grabbed Huw's 50/1.2, Oscar!!!
I was rather beat when I saw this great lens at a grat price - didn't know you grabbed it - now I feel better :)

Denis

Thanks guys, I'll of course post some cam+cof with it when it arrives ! In fact I am quiet lately, and I'm visiting photo.net more this weekend because...

...

it's more dial-up friendly :p

Let's see if the adsl central maintenance is ready tomorrow, one gets used quickly to good things, and being with on the slow line since thursday is a bit annoying... :-(

A very nice Canon 100/3.5 lens closed at $194.50 last night. It is in very good condition, stamped EP.

Rover, have you seen the black&chrome Canon 100/3.5 for $85 at Sherry Krauter's site ? I wonder how's still there...

Not to mention her (OT, sorry) Leica M4 for $850 (!)
