I usually stick my face right up against the back of the cameras but I notice, that I can see the rangefinder spot if I don't do that. If I leave a little space between my ugly face and the back of the camera, I can see a little better at the little focus square. I like it against the camera so I can steady it a little better.

What's your method?

Eric, you could always hold the camera a bit away to focus, and then press it against your face to take the shot. I'm left-eyed, so my nose is always against the camera back. 🙂

You need to focus accurately and you need to hold the camera steady when you release the shutter. Do as Frank says. Noses don't get permanently squashed.

With the exception of the Contax and Kiev, which forces you to place your eye very close to the finder, all other cameras I´ve tried had slight differences in design. For any one I found a slightly different placing of my eye trying to see the RF patch.
Fortunately I´m right eyed, so for shooting my nose helps to place camera in the right position, however it´s allways a bit apart from my face. I thought if a small piece of rigid foam stuck to the back of the 👎ER case would help.
IMO every one should find the way it works for him/her.

Hey, that's a way better idea than sticking the foam to your cheek to help brace the camera to your face. 😉
