Current Market Price of Used M9

Firstly you say "most use M cameras" because it's a mechanical rangefinder, but it might not take most to change the price of something like the used M9 market, it might only take a few hundred M9s popping up to change it.

I can see that. It may be true... we'll see.

Ultimately none of this really deserves your anger or my trying to justify anything to you, every one of my predictions is just my opinion, just as everything you predict is just yours, neither of us have a such a clear view of the future so as to state any prediction as fact.

There was no anger... please don't take it that way. Just a friendly debate... I'm just not that subtle in my approach. You're correct, we both have no clue what is really going to happen. Forgive me regarding the "wall st" stuff... it gets thrown around often here and it's tiring. It appears that I lumped you in when you didn't deserve it. Truce.

There was a post here linking to a youtube video that may or may not have been a troll explaining his troubles and concerns with the M9P. I've met at least 10 people in my travels that have similar concerns with their M9s and are absolutely dead serious. My thinking was that there are at least a few hundred that would opt for a more automated Leica because of their troubles with the M system (be it degrading vision, preference for p&s-like capabilities, etc), therefore introducing more and more used M9s to the market and the other systems begin to reach the consumer...Maybe, maybe not, just a thought....

Truce appreciated, I used the term Wall Street more as a description of the decades old mythic idea of the high income business men, didn't really intend for anyone to think I was talking about the actual street in Manhattan, so sorry about that...I live in beverly hills, so I understand your frustration concerning environmental stereotypes. Regards.

Im of the opinion that if an M10 hits the market, and improves the gripes had with the m9, it will affect prices downwardly for the m9 but only as a factor of how much more expensive the m10 is compared to the m9. If the m10 is say $10,000, then I think m9's will not drop as much as people think. In fact, the >$5,000 prices could be lower than the price after the m10 release if the price of the m10 is exorbitant. If the M9 ever gets in the 3 range i'll be able to afford one. otherwise its too much of a premium for what i do.

But what do i know.

If the M10 comes out and is a redesign, it could have a positive impact on the M9. However, I don't anticipate Leica making that mistake again.
