Diana fiasco

this is a bit embarassing, but of the roll of 120 that I turned in for processing, only 4 came back and I told them this was all new to me, Diana and film photog but to process whatever they could no matter how it looked. What are things that i could have done wrong, I did take off the lens cap !! Several times I tried to double expose a la the directions in the Diana booklet and online hints, don't see any signs of those. thanks joanlvh

The Diana is a toy camera, prone to light leaks and malfunction.

Scan and post some of the pictures. That is the only way to assess if the camera is to blame, or if it is something you are doing incorrectly.

FWIW, the most common problem I see on the Diana's (the current models anyway), is people changing the aperture to "P" by accident. P is for pinhole, and doesn't let in anywhere near enough light for handheld photography.
"P" should be used with the lens removed, and with LOONG exposures.

I think Brian may have the answer. Take the back off the camera and look through it from the back as you fire the shutter at one setting or the other. You have two main things to look for, the size or the opening (aperture) and the shutter which, I think, has a time exposure setting. Reading the book is OK but mess with the thing for a while. Film needs the correct amount of light and the correct amount of time exposed to that light. Understand that and the rest is (relatively) easy.
