Syracuse Cafe in the small town of Syracuse, Indiana.

Chinese Lantern Restaurant in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Magic Wand Restaurant in the small town of Churubusco, Indiana. My son and I go eat here often. The whole place is decorated with clowns, and has been as long as I can remember. My parents used to take me there when I was a kid, and its just like it was back then.

Coney Island Hot Dogs on Main Street in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. Founded in 1914, it is Fort Wayne's oldest restaurant. It still operates in the same building it has been in since the beginning 103 years ago.

Roadrunners Retreat in the Mojave Desert in California

I love that stretch of 66. Cadiz, Amboy, Ludlow... The Roadrunner's Retreat is even lonelier at night!

Was out there at 6AM on a Sunday morning in July. Was absolute quiet. Nobody for miles. Then I heard a big animal behind one of the abandoned buildings. Didn't stick around to see what it was.

Would have loved to see the place in it's heyday.
