Hi,
I want to order a lens from camera quest web site, and they don't use cart system to order items, instaed I need to transfer money to the guy using paypal, since I haven't ever ordered from the site before I wanted to know if it is safe. If you have ordered from the site before, especially if it was international shipment, please let me know how was the experience.

Thanks,
Eyal

Hello. I have not ordered yet from camera quest yet, but given the fact that Stephen Gandy is the guy who is behind this all forum could give you some confidence ;)

While it is a PITA to buy stuff from Cameraquest because there is no cart system, Stephen is an absolute stand up guy. Very good store to do business with. This forum belongs to Cameraquest .

<rant on> I can't understand why Cameraquest won't add a shopping cart. I would buy stuff regularly there if only there was a cart. I don't like "personal service." I just want to buy stuff. <rant off>

Stephen Gandy, the owner of CameraQuest, also happens to own this forum.

Rumour has it he's OK so I think your money should be fairly safe! :D

Actually, Stephen Gandy is the owner (?) of rangefinder.com.

I ordered from him and payment and shipping was no problem.
Most of his prices are very reasonable, but read the warranty conditions carefully - these are quite different to what we are used to here in Germany. Don't know about Israel, though.

Cheers,
Uwe

I've only ordered a CVII meter from CameraQuest so far. But service was quick and painless. Thumbs-up from me!

When it comes to voigtlander gear, I go for cameraquest before european sellers. Prices, even accounting for Irish import duty and vat, are way better at CQ. I've bought a few things from him at this point, through both his site and his ebay store, I've been happy with each transaction.

I do the same in Spain, even with custom taxes prices are far better.

Great service, good prices, fast shipping (to Canada) which means he actually got it out the door the next day and it was here in a few more.

Can't go wrong even if the site is a bit labyrinthine.

Me too have bought from Steven. Again prices very competitive. Have not seen BNIB Voigtlander stuff on ebay that's been cheaper. And the service is superior. If you have a paypal account already purchasing from Steven is no sweat really. An extra 5 minutes saves you money and keeps the nerves in check.

Stephen gives first rate service. I've bought a number of items from him and personal service. He is in the top 1% of all camera sellers, at least from my experience.

Among the best in the business. Don't let his site put you off.
Gandy's service is first class and his reputation among CV users
is golden. I've bought from him for more than 10 years.
