EUROMEET 2013, Prague, 18-19 May

Just thought I'd start the discussion because I will most likely be off-line while in Prague, so I have to know the meeting spots before Friday evening in order to make it there... :D

Guess I'll have a look at the suggested Cafes and vote for the one next to my hotel... :D:D:D

I'm interested in a mini-meet before the weekend: I'll arrive Thursday evening, at the airport around 20.00. There should be a shuttle to the hotel, so I guess I'll be there around 21.00 ? Too early to go to bed for me ... If not Thursday evening, then Friday ?

Stefan.

(After my working long-weekend I'm back in communication.)

The contact-detail list will be sent out tomorrow evening as I'll be travelling on Wednesday night. In theory I will have access to "free Wifi" where I'm staying, so will send any last minute info from the campsite.

Before the weekend I'll walk round and follow the suggestions of pavel, in his posts above. What does everyone want to do at the weekend? Most likely not walk around museums, but rather walk around Prague? That is the impression I have got in previous Euromeets, but I just thought I should ask . . .

Lawrence enquired about visiting the Sudek museum. There is a show there ending on Sunday, so it would be more sensible to go before the weekend instead of after it. Are there more interested for a mini-meet before the weekend?

Regarding the meeting location for Saturday, we should consider where everyone is staying - presumably South of the river, but not in the old centre. I expect any cafe could manage a dozen people without too much problem so how about one of those recommended by our Prague colleagues and seen on the Google-map?

Czech Republic is a Zone 1 country, so being online is not so expensive. I will be online most of the time.

Well, I won't be offline because I think it's too expensive, but because I don't feel like lugging my laptop, and I don't even own a Smartphone. So offline it is... :D

That being said, I am up for Friday Meetings, but probably won't be at the hotel before Friday 10 pm...

Of the restaurants/cafes suggested previously by our Prague colleagues, some are not open very early at the weekend. How about choosing Cafe Louvre for Saturday morning? It is open from 09:00 for anyone who wants a cooked breakfast before our meet-up at 10. We should be mobile well before 11:00 I hope. The establishment is marked on the Google map.

If there is a problem with the location (a little South of the Old Town) or the cafe then I'd be happy to hear about it within the next 24 hours. The contact list will be sent out shortly, so in case of any disasters - or happy early meetings - we can keep in touch.

Regarding the possibilities of morning light along the river, for example before the meetup on Saturday, perhaps those keen enough will make arrangements via the contact list? ;)

Cafe Louvre is 350m from my hotel, perfect. I'm in for Saturday evening.

Regarding the morning light......the weather forecast does not look so good. Bring an umbrella!

Hmmmm, umbrellas . . . maybe there will be a rainbow? <---[wild optimism]

Only nine of us in the list, which should be arriving shortly (I re-did it as text because I'm not sure of the LibreOffice and Excel-reading ability of you all). Not so many for Saturday evening I guess.

What is Lokal? Count me in anyway :).

Stefan
needed to investigate myself. Lokal Dlouha, meeting point, it is on the map. But i guess it will be an all-weekend hangout and we will move around in the group anyway. Especially if weather will not exactly cooperate...

I am working on Friday, I can meet in the afternoon from about 18h.
So how about at 18.30h at typicall meeting point - under the tail of Saint Vaclav statue at Vaclavske namesti?
