Fuji GA645z cracked grip

Hello

I've noticed that almost all these cameras have hairline cracks (or bigger) in the side of the hand grip .
This would be on the right hand side of the camera. Does this affect functionality? Does it cause a light leak? Or is it just cosmetic?

Mine has such a crack and I've seen no evidence of light leaking.

Ditto -- seen no evidence of light leaks on a GA645zi

No crack on mine. A little research brings up possible latch flaw. If you close the back and the latch snaps closed there is pressure on something in the grip that pushed through the plastic causing the crack to appear. But if you carefully close the door by turning the latch as if to open it then carefully close the door that should keep it from cracking. Fingers crossed.

You have to worry about the wires in the film door; not so much the crack in the grip.
