Fujifilm X-Pro1 details leaked!!!

Oooo! The register distance was stated as 17.7mm. Great! Already more than 10mm space: Meaning some new M-adapters with helicoids from the Far-East will soon be on the stage, allowing the M-mount lenses to be used in macro ranges too! :D

I suppose a firmware update allowing the function button to become a toggled lock for the controls would be a nice fix as well.

Actually, the firmware update does allow you to lock the 4-way command dial by pressing and holding the OK button for 3 seconds.

I'm in love with this camera. Thankfully it's a bit heftier than the X100 - which always felt just a little small for my hands.

I know some won't be happy with the price. But you can put together a 3-lens kit and one camera for less than $3,500. Or about the price of used M8.2.
And if these new lenses perform anything like the one on the X100, that will make a very nice kit.

Finally we see the back of the camera. It looks much more businesslike than the cheapo-digital look of the X100's back controls.

I'm just about sold. All I want is a snap focus/preset scale focus mode.

This quite interesting:

"However, if Fuji introduces zoom lenses with the XF mount in the future, the camera will only allow the electronic viewfinder (EVF) to be used."

If the sensor really performs better than a FF sensor, the price is worth it.

Now, we'll see what Sony does in response, most likely a full-frame Nex.

p.s. Goodbye Leica

I'm thinking it will not be the hit the X100 was... just due to the price.

I'm not sure. I think it will be more of a hit, actually. I think a system camera has inherently broader appeal than a fixed lens camera with a single focal length. Also, the price is more than I can afford, but not unreasonable if you compare it with a high end aps dslr like a canon 7D. Wasn't that model about the same price when it was launched?

An interesting camera, which with the medium-tele lens could complement my x1...
I'll have to think about...

Notice those weights for the lenses! 187g (6.6. oz) for the normal, 116g (4.1 oz) for the wide...Yikes, that's better than most M mount lenses!

+1 for Alien8's comment, with the following caveat. If there is some way to "dial in" focal lengths from aftermarket lenses so that you have the benefits of whatever in-camera voodoo is being applied to RAW files, then it will be hard for many to resist. Just the sheer number of lenses that can be used with the camera will, I predict, make it more popular even than the X100. If they can get the image quality of the X100's chip with all those focal lengths -- whoo-wah.

Intriguing... who knows, but I too reckon it looks more serious, more of a longterm commitment, than did the X100. It's kind of like the G2, Hexar RF and X-Pan in feel, but is much more obviously different to mainstream SLRs than they were. I hope it does well...

and if one can use the odd legacy lens it's not a ludicrously expensive package by any means.

It's fun to see everyone so excited about this fuji. in 6 months the threads will be about how the fuji x1 has this problem and that one and "Why I sold my Fuji X1 pro". That of course will be fun also :D Anyone take any pictures today? ;)
