Fujifilm X-Pro1 details leaked!!!

The more that comes out about this camera the more I am interested. Can't wait to try one out in the store. Fuji are definitely heading in the right direction for those looking enjoy a modern version of a RF "style" of shooting.

It looks to be a fine camera.

It's not the right camera for me since I have no desire to buy yet another lens kit ... I'll have to know for sure how well my Leica, Cosina/Voightländer and Zeiss ZM lenses work on it before I was interested to study it.

I watched both Fuji guys videos and NOT ONCE did he let us hear the shutter sounds! What's the first thing you do when holding a new camera? Right, you listen to all the shutter speeds.

Interesting price points in the Fuji X product line:
$-600 US - X10
$1200 US - X100
$2400 US - X1 with one lens

The hype has me really interested but at this price point I'm not going to pull the trigger immediately. I've got three issues so far...

1. TTL contrast detect AF (49-pt)
Contrast detection can work but the implementation on the X100 was just too frustrating which caused me to sell the camera. This looks too similar. With a body priced at 1700usd I hoped they fixed it.

2. Focus by wire
While the X100's system worked it was not optimum. With lenses priced around 600usd each I don't know.

3. No diopter adjustment.
What? Now I have to spend some more. Damn!

Hopefully we'll hear from the folks who got their hands on it at CES. Then we'll get some early reviewers stepping in. Hopefully by mid-February we'll have some solid user reviews. If I'm going to purchase this. I'll do it in March or early April. I'll let the reviews come in and see how this thing performs before making a final decision. And then of course there's this Olympus OM-style thingy.

I read something a day or so ago that suggested the base price ($1700?) will include one lens, probably the 35mm. Fingers crossed here. 🙂 But I'd agree with other posters here that these prices will delay the rush to buy like happened with the X100. In a way, I'm thankful. Now I can stand waiting until lots of reviews have been completed and, who knows, a used one shows up here in the Classifieds. 🙂

I sometimes wonder if the X100's relatively slow AF speed was a function of having the lens be capable of macro mode, and not appearing to have a USM-style silent motor in it.

I think Fuji has been listening to us: a great viewfinder, interchangeable lenses, terrific resolution, fast lenses with manual aperture control (!), etc.
If the noise levels are low at 3200 ISO, I am in.

i'm not worried about focus by wire as i would always use auto focus...why buy an af camera and not use af?
plus, i doubt that i would want to use my m mount lenses on it. i'm just that kind of guy.

i'm glad it's a bit bigger...nice to hold and to hold on to.

it's not an rangefinder but it pretends very nicely...good enough for most of us?

not really cheap but not in m9 territory which gives me hope...
i love fuji lenses...used them in the darkroom for years.

looking forward to playing with one...if these lenses are as good as the x100, with similar (lack of) noise at 3200...i would be a very happy camper, indeed.

I'm lucky in that I only really like to use 28mm - 50mm lenses...so buying into new systems is no big deal to me.

That was the original rumor, but at CES today Fuji quoted $1700 body only.

... yes and also no info on the shutter lag; about the shutter noise the only interesting thing I found in the specifications is the "silent mode" among the "Other functions".

Anyway, what interest me is the possibility to use legacy lenses, I'm curious to see some test with ltm/m mount lenses once (if) there'll be a proper adapter.

Fuji stated that it had very little shutter lag in its presentation. More important to me is AF lag as shutter lag is seldom the issue over AF lag.

There was no official price released today during the press conference, they said it would be announced by end of January.

If it does end up being $1700 for the body, considering 6mp RD1s have been selling here for $1200+ for the past few years, seems like a relative bargain...

AF accuracy is more important to me with these large aperture lenses. No diopter adjustment is another possible deal breaker.

Unlike most I actually like the fixed lens of the x100. Likely I will pick up this new camera with the 60mm lens to pair with it. My primary complaint with the x100 is the controls. I tend to hold the camera as I cruise around or work at an event. The buttons and dial are so easy to change without knowing. Often, critical setting can be changed. How many times I've lifted the camera to my eye to find I've changed to "panorama mode" or "flash off/on" or "Macro mode" etc... I don't know. I hope the new camera has solved this. I suppose a firmware update allowing the function button to become a toggled lock for the controls would be a nice fix as well. Otherwise, I'm quite stoked with these fuji offerings. My neck is really liking the light weight options they provide as well.

Just waiting for an updated version of the X100 with the new sensor 😀

No diopter adjustment as such, but it does have a threaded eyepiece a la Leica or Voigtländer which allows the use of screw-on diopters. Good enough for me...
