I now have the Heliar 50/2 a nd 50/3.5, and both lenses are very special. I have tried out the Nokton but I don't own such a lens.

Aside from the difference in speed, can you see any differences in the images as far as sharpness, bokeh, etc? In other words, is there a reason to choose one over the other aside from the fact that one is faster?
 
The 50/3.5 can have a 3D effect in some images, while the 50/2 is very sharp. I compared all 3 lenses recently with Roland's help. Take a look at the extensive side by side comparisons of about 30 50mm lenses.
 
I have the 50/1.5 nokton and love the lens. Wonderful in low light and I enjoy the color, detail, and bokeh that this lens produces. The lens has a great look and feel of a quality built lens.

. . . . . I would like to add the 50/2 to the kit at some point in time but for now all I have is the time and not the money . . . . .
 
I'm going to vote for the Heliar because it is the only 50 I have. I like that it can be amazing and sharp but also has a really sweet retro look to it. If I wanted something that looked modern I'd just shoot digital.

I still love the non collapsible Heliar 50.2. It is a very, very reliable lens. F2 isn't one of those sexy super fast lenses but it is one of those lenses that always seem to bring home the bacon, if you know what I mean. It reminds me a lot of my Planar 50/2 on the M mount. Not very sexy but very good.
 
Yes, it came back to life.
I have the Heliar 50/2 and the CV 50/1.5. Both lenses are excellent lenses. The Nokton is a larger sized lens.
 
It was one of the old threads which came from here while I was researching on Heliar 50 f2 lens at beginning of December 2015. I received large scans and negatives from this lens later on. From different copies (owners) of 50/2. Printed on different paper from one of them and ... I agree with majority in the poll. Both or 1.5.
 
I checked it out: what is a necrothread?

Negatively: an old, decaying thread that refuses to die.

Positively: a threaded conversation that had retained its usefulness so long that new comments are still being added years later.

Let's start a poll on it; which is your definition of "necrothread" here?
