As you probably know it's not actually gold plated, but has gold plated electrical contacts inside. By using that name Yashica was using the AD boys "spin" to spur more interest in their product - LOL. Nice sharp lens though. 🙂

It's too late for me. I'm not going to change now. Having started with the best intentions and the highest of motives, I've devolved into somebody who is 60% gearhead and 40% photographer. Dante wrote "Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch'entrate!" "...All hope abandon, ye who enter here." Many of us think that testing gear is a temporary thing that we do in preparation for working. In fact, I think it is just as often — perhaps more than often — a permanent detour. We get off track and never get back on.

I think we can all see why the RFF MTF T-Shirt is such a great idea! Give them to your loved ones, take pictures, and test the equipment all at once! The back can read

Too late Peter. Someone who owns 5 CV 35mm lenses must have been consumed by the dark force! There's no way out and there's no cure for that! Bwahahahahahahaha!

i can live with that.
when i sold my medium format stuff i promised myself - one camera, one lens, to get simple and enjoy the photographing again.
now, i'm losing sleep waiting for the canon p to add to the bessa r and the 50mm canon lens to add to the 35/75 set up i have.
i dodged this by saying the canon will stay on the canon. one camera, one lens. no meter, a purist. maybe start using tri-x again to get that 50/60s look back.
but really, are we so bad...?

Scary isn't it? I saw a segment on local TV recently about a (very good) Toronto photographer who uses only a single Rollei TLR -- nothing else. Same idea.backalley photo said:

But lenses -- what beautiful things, and so many to pick from and so many bodies to wear them on ... 😀

You guys are a disgrace, and sicken me! I recently received a Canonet 28 and a Minolta 7sII. But, they were given to me, so that doesn't count as fueling any addiction. Even more, just today I went into a local used camera shop, fraught with old rangefinders, and I didn't purchase a one! They even have a "mint" Canon GIII QL-17 with Canonlite D flash unit. Now that's what I call will power, you wimps!
Oh yeah, I did get a 48mm 4x ND filter, a 48mm 2x ND filter, a 49mm polarizer and a 49mm metal screw-on lens shade........
