Hello??

Don't feel lonely, you make me sad.....
And I do want to put something up here but I only got my Yashica this week. It's an Electro 35 GSN in very nice condition. As soon as I have the first roll back I'll put some pictures up.

Just for Bill, a couple of photos from last year. The sunset was taken from our front balcony & the night shot is a building up the street from were I work.

Hey, I'm about as happy as can be! I finally found a Lynx 14e, looking pretty pristine, except for the battery cover, which is the awkward black thing you have to open without a coin (as in this thread) It looks like somebody opened it with some kind of plyers. It still had batteries in it, so I had to soak it with vinegar, but it worked! Now, putting in 4 lr44 batteries, the lights over and under light up, but the readings aren't all that. You think I should open the lens to clean those metal slits inside the lens rings, as pictured here?

thanks,

R.

If you want to, go for it. Just take your time, and take notes/make diagrams as you go and it should go back together OK. Problem is that the resistor strips wear over the years and may never give the proper exposure, even after cleaning.
IMHO, the best solution is a decent hand-held meter, which can be used with this camera and any others that you may pick up in the future.

Well, I tried, but I couldn't get past the name ring... So, I'll do as you suggest and use my gossen.

cheers,

I got a box of "junk" cameras today from a bulk sale, and spent a couple hours going through them. Included in the box was. GL, a couple GSNs, two Olympus SPs (one of them black), an Olympus XA in it's original hard case, and a couple of Pentax Spotmatics. The most surprising thing a out this box of "junk" cameras is that every single one of them works. I have never rcecieved a group of Yashica Electros all of which work, the usual ratio of working cameras to non-working ones is 1 to 3. Anyway, I'll be busy over the next few days cleaning up and resealing the lot.

Not me. I got a "new" Yashica CC and have a Lynx 14 on the way. I'm seriously impressed with the lens on the CC and its perfect size. It's been one of my most frequently used cameras lately.

I am away from Japan while I visit my family in America. At the moment I am parked in front of a truck stop in the middle of nowhere in West Texas not far from El Paso using the wifi from the motel across the street.

I stopped here to get gas and something to drink before continuing on my way, but it's 5:30 am and the pumps won't open until 6, so I'm passing a quiet moment.

I don't think that any of the 35mm glass I have is sharper than the Yashinon on my GS. The above is a Costco scan, but I'm going to send some new GS shots to Precision to see just what a 26MP scan looks like.

Cheers...
