Horseman SW612 - next lens after 35mm?

Ok, so I have been shooting away with a 35mm APO-Grandagon and find it pretty temperamental (it has to be stopped way down to cover 6x12 if not also 6x9). So I am thinking maybe to add a lens of double the focal length.

So in looking at a next lens, is it something like a 75mm, 80mm, or 90mm? I was thinking in that range because it's like a 35mm on 35mm @80mm and 6x9., with some added reach in 6x12.

Any ideas from longer-term cowboys, I mean, horsemen? Well, since you can get cones for this camera in many focal lengths, what's your favorite medium-wide for any large format?

6x12 lens set that I've used is 38mm XL, 58mm XL, Nikkor 90mm f/8, and then maybe a 150mm but usually not.

I thought the APO Grandagon was spec'd to 6x12? I don't know but I can tell you the Schneider 38mm XL covers just fine, with plenty to spare.

BTW, center filter is probably an important consideration for shooting your 35mm. Did Rodenstock make one for that lens? I don't shoot Rodenstock so I am not very knowledgeable about their offerings.

The APO-Grandagon only seems to hit its stride at f/22, which is a bit tough sometimes. I'd love to throw a 38XL on this camera, but that's sadly not within budget!

I figured the APO Grandagon would be marginally better than the 38 XL, but perhaps not. My 38 is definitely not up to par with my other Schneiders until f/16 or 22. It's a pretty extreme lens so I am not particularly surprised or bothered by this, but it is noticeable when focusing at f/5.6.

Back when I got my 38 I got a really good deal and also the 35mm Rodenstock was way more. Haven't seen any other deal on a 38 though - they aren't particularly common, obviously.

I had the 75mm f4.5 Nikkor on a Gaoersi 612
It seemed pretty decent at larger apertures.
The image below was a handheld but you see a decent f8 image.
Epson V700 scan without glass so... plenty of faulting to be done there.

Careful with filters as the front glass was really close to touching some of mine. (faulty design).
