I hate this word...

Those are both essentially correct... if something isn't analog it's digital, unless it's orthogonal to the whole conversation. An anteater is neither, though it does have digits. And might be considered analog if its digestive track is the measure of the beast... maybe it's both.

That's right...but they don't know why they are using the word...they're just repeating something they've heard and they think it sounds cool...

I am sick of hearing, "Is that digital?" and "Can I see the picture?"
Last week I was walking home with one of my cameras on a neck strap and some guy (classical abercrombie-wearing guy) comes up and says "Nice camera. How many megapixels does it have?" To which i reply "None". He just gave me a blank stare so i said "It's a film camera" And he said "Oh, i get it, so you give it the megapixels when you print the pictures?"
And I've also had lots of people trying to see some image magically appear on the back of my cameras.

:bang:

Oh, and also, some old guy tried to sell some cheap p&s camera that "shoots both film and digital" to me..... "it has 2 gigabytes"...

In a non-photography related world, it's the misuse of the word...
Decadent or Decadence

I hate all the neo-housewife internet cute-isms. "DH" for "dear husband" and all that trash. More generally, any idiot who feels the need to speak as if their audience is either emotionally stuck at three years old, or made up entirely of stunted characters from a silly PBS Victorian period piece.
