This thought just occurred to me because of the "my birthday thread" that I just posted.....

If you were to have 2 weeks free and money, your job, family, etc... were not problems......where would you go in the world and what would you like to photograph?
and by the way, the 2 week time table is not strict, you can adjust that if you want........
cheers, michael

Too many places & in no specific order of preference here are just a few:
Kathmandu, Havana (Cuba), India, back home to Manila, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Tangier, Istanbul....
The problem would be deciding where to actually go! But that's a darn good problem to have...

Paris, Morocco, Prague, just a few that seem to never run out of photo opportunities. There are many other places, these are just the ones I've seen and can't seem to forget.

Paris. I went there for a weekend once and just really really wanted to spend some serious time there. Its a visual feast. However, overall I think its easier to come up with a list of places I would NOT want to go. I have been to a bunch of places in US, Asia, and Europe, but want to see more and more.

Hey Roland.......funny you mention a trip that involves a motorcycle.....Whenever I am out in the country side in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar, I rent a motorcycle to travel around.......it is a great way to go to "out of the way places" and photograph and meet interesting people in rural areas.....
In Myanmar, it is impossible to rent one in Yangon, but up in the north, in Mandalay, you can rent one....and I absolutely love it......in a country that is so strict and that controls your movements, such as Myanmar, it feels so amazing to get on a bike and travel around the north and stop off at temples, villages, markets etc... and meet the locals.......
I always factor in the vibration of the motorcycle and place my camera bag accordingly so my cameras do not get messed up (rangefinder misaligned, top cover comes loose, etc...)
that said, I have had a couple of close calls...but, I'll save those stories for when we meet up in San Francisco one day for drink....
cheers, Michael

Probably New Orleans. I have a "new" 6x9 camera that has a Heliar lens. The last time I was in N.O. all of those beautiful iron balconies in the French Quarter, and those brick streets after a rain, were just made for a vintage folder to photograph.
