Didn't know, the iPad2 will have an M-mount.

I will revisit the iPad 2, when it is available. The original iPad had no place in my life - it can do a few things badly, does one thing brilliantly (display photos) and does a lot of important things not at all (proper,fast access to data for sharing, synching, backup and use as external mass storage for a Mac, work professionally with Excel on the road, have Adobe Lightroom running and sharing with other Macs, …)
The original iPad has been a sofa toy in my eyes, since it has been announced, to be a bigger iPhone (which I have and use heavily) instead of being a keyboard less Mac with OS X running.
THAT would be an iPad, I would buy unseen (Macbook Air 11" without keyboard, but full OS X functionality including FAST data accessibility in form of Firewire or now TB).
Get the M body - it is much more versatile yet simple ;-)
