Is that a CAMERA in your pocket?

There are a lot of good choices for the poll, but I found the obvious choices missing. No RF choices? only analog SLR or digital SLR? BUT I DO APPRECIATE THE POLL!!

My drug of choice used to be my M6 with small CV 35mm, then I got the Canon s90 and it was on. I went back to the M6 b/c I thought, why am I taking pictures with a P&S when I could be taking better pictures with my M6. Now I tote the used Epson RD-1s around with me, and I am floored by its digital capture (APS-C) and Analog controls. I see many folks use their XA, which I have collecting dust, so will have to pull it out of retirement (the Yashica T4 zoom has always stood by me in the past as well).

My one pocket-size camera goes in its leather belt-pouch for its safety; a Canon ELPH Jr which takes APS film and has a 26mm lens. But I seldom take it along; I haven't finished the film roll started over a year ago. I gladly carry the Bronica instead... 🙂

Uhhh it depends for me I think.

I always carry one out (apart from the odd day where I'm super busy at university and have no time to shoot anything).

I carryt he Canon rangefinder I have now, or sometimes my Lomo LC-A (but that needs fixing) - or whatever camera has film I need to finish off!

I've been carrying MP or M2 with Elmar-M 50 (quite pocketable in a coat pocket), but my new favorite for everyday carrying is definitely IIIf with Elmar 50/3.5. Now that is truly pocketable.

I agree, as of late I've been carrying the IID with Canon's 50/3.5 (avatar) nice and pocketable.

I have a fairly big collection (but the entire cost of said collection wouldn't get me a Leica M), so it depends on what I'm testing after fixing it up, or what I've got film in.

I used to carry a very small Fuji APS camera with me, then the battery died (it takes an odd size) and so didn't carry anything but my cell phone for a while. I just found a good deal on an open box Lumix - $50 for a DMC-ls80. Not great, but interesting specs, f/2.8, optical image stabilization. It'll actually go up to 6400 ISO as well, but of course the noise is simply atrocious at that level for a small point and shoot.

Nikon FM3a with either 50mm f1.8 or 35mm f2 (both AF-D) and Ilford XP2 or Kodak Portra 160NC. It depends of the mood and weather.

I usually have an Olympus XA2 or Stylus in my back pocket. The other cameras (Kiev 2a, Pentacon 6) come out when I know there will be something to shoot.

Yep. Would be a truly dream combo if Barnack Leica's shutter sound was as quiet as Ms. But I guess I'm asking too much. Barnack + collapsible 50mm is really a fine combo for everyday shoot.

For today, I'm doing MP + 50/3.5 and believe or not, it's actually quite sexy and very very pocketable.

Depends on time of year, size of pocket, and mood. Sometimes M6 w/Canon 50/1.4 or M2 w/Summaron 35, sometimes Yashica T4 Super, lately CL w/Cron 40.

I rarely leave home without a camera, and when I do it's usually unintentional😀

Now I just wish I have a jacket with a pocket big enough for Hassy 500C/M. 😀 Well I have Zeiss Ikon Nettar II for that, though. 😛

Rollei 35 is clumsy and too heavy. Minox 35GT's are not robust, but have a great lens. Contax T's are too expensive. Olympus Epics have wonderful ergonomics but lenses distort at edges.

Yashica T4 Super is relatively inexpensive, has a superb lens, focuses well, has a useful built-in flash and I love that waist-level viewfinder...a sensational street camera. The Ricoh/Rollei clone that has the 24mm/35mm dual lens is cute, but its LCD gave out a few years ago, so I can't use the mode settings too well.

Chris, I don't have pockets that big! 🙂 Today it started raining while I was on foot prowling the alleys downtown with a Hexar RF and 35 Lux ASPH... tucked it under my jacket but no way would it fit any available pocket.

Used to carry a Canon G10 w/14.6 megapixels (way too many) but it was awful in low light, but you could definitely pocket carry it. I sold it and went back to my Bessa R and the Ultron 28/1.9. You can't pocket it as the lens is too big (especially with its great looking and very large lens hood).

However, with the 35/2.5 Color Skopar, and a Gordy strap instead of a neck strap, it goes in jacket pocket. Oh, how I miss my Oly XA!
