Italian student arrested while filming for fun

This video is outrageous and I'm glad I don't live in London anymore. I was once harassed by a warden at Trafalgar Square; he stopped short of calling me a paedophile.
At least she's still alive. People like Charles Menezes have paid it with their life for acting "suspiciously".

Ok, the amateur cop was a moron and clearly I share the outrage. However, she could easily have defused the situation if she had handled it differently. Doesn't make it right, but half-wit wanna-be cops like that are pretty easy to figure out.

How?
I mean, assuming she was not ready to show her footage?
I simply think she looks and talks a bit err... funny, and with an accents, and to make it totally impossible for the chewing cop to keep cool, she says "no"...

[edit] I'm not arguing here, I am honestly interested in how to act in such a situation.
For a first, you will never catch me without an ID.
But for the rest, I don't think I would have done better.

Yes, jumping on the guy and pumping 8 bullets into him was definitely called for...

I was setting the context, not defending the act. Hindsight is an ability we all have in abundance, and yours is particularly acute my friend

Stewart,
It's pretty understandable that the guys must have been in a "different mood": Pretty upset, furstrated, etc.
Not very good for judgement, specially if the guy has been "positively identify"
I just don't get why on earth wouldn't they have tried to intercept him before reaching a potential target. Once on the supposed target, indeed, you don't have much options to stop a potential suicide bomber.
