Hay Everyone,
Just wanted to share my latest acquisition a Canon 35/1.8 lens & ask a question about it too. What size front lens cap does this lens use? Does anyone have a one that they would part with? 🙂

Thanks, Mike

Congrats, Mike.

The original push on cap (lens has 40mm filter thread) is rare.

But the cap of a Jupiter 3 or 8 (40.5mm filter thread) will work well, that's the cheapest solution.

Cheers,

Roland.

The 42mm push-on Leica cap (or a cheap other brand) will also fit. I suspect that a 40.5mm cap such as the Nikon with the push buttons would work also.

Congrats on getting such a beautiful lens.

I always use a Franka push on lens hood for lens protection, but no lens front cap.

My favorite caps for the 35/1.8, 35/2, 50/1.8 and 50/1.5, next to the original plastik caps are Russian plastik caps (Jupiter-3) with a tight fit. For some or another reason, I prefer caps over filters for protection.

Looks and works great on the M2! I was using this combo over the weekend...

I think you'll dig it. Good luck finding filters, though! I managed to find a UV on eBay and now use that instead of a cap.
