I agree. B+W MC filter is exactly what I'm going to do. As I mentioned in the photo post, I'd like to go without hood or lens cap (sitting in lens package) so a good quality filter is a must. It's just that the lens came so fast I wasn't quick enough to prepare a B+W one in time.
This lens is super durable against harsh lights.
And while it's a modern contrasty lens, it still preserves nice shadow and highlight details for darkroom work (haven't tried yet). That's what I was looking for. I feel like I'm shooting with Mamiya 7.
I got the 35/2.8 mainly because I was absolutely smitten by its OOF rendering at 2.8. It's better in this respect than the f/2 Biogon or any of the Summicrons, IMO.
Do you have a really mind-blowing example of this? I'd appreciate if you do and can post it. Thanks.

I personally don't use wide open aperture that often and I am no expert at all, but looks like C-B 35/2.8 has a little "calmer" bokeh with less "radial zoom" like blur (what do you call that?) compared to B 35/2. That blur is very visible at F2 on the Biogon.

I just was able to find a used 2.8, so I'm happy to be joining the club.

I had been looking for awhile... but kept looking at these posts in envy waiting for one to appear.

Reiner - nice example - a pic in diffused light is often more telling since many lenses render plenty of microcontrast and apparent sharpness when the light is more defined.
By the way, I love your tag line. I share your affinities.

With each lens set to infinity, the 2.8 is 1.2", and the 2.0 is 1.75"

Just got mine as well... looks nice, but I have to go out and use it before I get all crazy about it.

Well, looks like I've gotta start saving for one. Anyone given it a try with Adox CMS20? That would really show just how sharp that lens is.

Just got this lens, two rolls coming back from the dev tomorrow. I'll try and scan and post some of them up here.
I'm wondering, do you guys shoot with UV Haze filters? Or clear filters? I'm thinking mainly for protection, as I'm not concerned with haze on this lens too much.
