Just got the C-Biogon 35mm f2.8

At present its a Duel between the Asph & The C Biogon
Love them both....😱... not sure who will win my Heart & Eye
the zeiss makes me want to shoot COLOR


I also got the 50 planar as my new 50
( though a sonnar may be cool too)
my 50 pre asph lux will sooooon be up for Sale

Woah, when did that happen, Helen???

I experienced the same dual recently. The cron asph won. Just as good with colour and a more preferable look in B&W (for me). Plus the extra stop. The C Biogon is a damn fine lens though.

Its that Tres Thin plane line that makes my heart beat Faster
When I look at b&w shots with the cron
Have not tried color with the cron ... interesting what you say about the cron & color
Cause the Zeiss screams 'Color' Me .... So Beautiful
 
I have de 2.0 Biogon and the colour is outstanding. I like so much it... Is the C Biogon in the same way? Sometimes the 2.0 feels too big and I look at the "C" type... maybe someday... but 2.8 sometimes isn't enough. I like a lot the 2.0 because its bokeh and the extra stop, of course.

Here's one I just scanned that I shot with my C-Biogon. Still loving it!
 
The 35mm Summarit-M is supposed to have bokeh like the pre-ASPH 'cron. It's certainly smooth and inoffensive. Costs more than the C-Biogon but it's half a stop faster (Erwin measured it as f/2.4) and, should it matter, it has "LEICA" on it!

Think the C-Biogon with the other three is worth keeping, if nothing else so that you even it up, two 35's and two 50's 😉

It's got to be the best value '35 out there!

Helen, no harm in trying this stuff out. I was never happy with the the Planar (due to size versus the Summarit I use and love) or the C-Sonnar (due to shift, etc. though I want to love this lens). That said, the Planar is not bad, just not for me. The only issue with the c-biogon is of course it is too damn slow for the winter months here in NYC.
 
It's darker here in Seattle than it is in NYC (we're at higher latitude, we have much more cloudy weather), and f/2.8 is fine. I did, however, replace my 21/4.5 Biogon-C with a 21/2.8 Biogon. f/4.5 really was too slow.
