.......sometimes i thinks
I have a few pictures and some thoughts from my recent travels that i’d like to share but not sure what medium is the best.
I could post it on my blog but i am not sure if readers here will be keen to shuffle between my blog and the forum so i am going to try and share it here over time (do let me know if there is a better way to do this)
I am just a hobbyist and critiques and comments are most welcomed =D
Some numbers and stats,
- Travelled a total of 20 days
- Brought along 54 rolls of film. Mainly TriX and Fuji Reala. Some XP2 and Fuji Pro 400H
- Shot 32 rolls of film only. I certainly did not try to ‘save’ film. Just shot whenever I felt like. Interesting because I expected to shoot more than 32. Note to self - make conscious effort to shoot more perhaps =D
Equipments:
- MP and ZI with CV28/3.5, 35 preASPH Lux, 50 Cron, 50 C sonnar.
- Domke F6.
- Brought 2 50mm because they are both relatively new to me so would really like to put them to some good use. I always have one 50mm mounted 99% of the time so i would rotate the to 50s.
- The other body usually houses the 35 Lux. Used the CV28 only a couple of times. All in all, i could probably do with just a 35 and a 50 (which 50... still not sure.. the 50 cron is noticeable lighter)
- Bought a 35mm summicron square hood for my 35 lux. Worked well. Some vignette if the hood is rotated. Prefer the square hood rather than the original 35 lux hood because it made the whole rig smaller.
X-rays,
- Got zapped a total of 9 times.
- Australian airport (Tullamarine, Melbourne) zaps everytime
- Malaysian airport (KLIA) was willing to hand inspect everytime
- Also zapped at Singapore, Egypt and Cambodia.
--->> Films turned out FINE =D

So first up..... some from KL (all taken with XP2 rated at ISO 400)
I have been to KL countless of times and I enjoy walking around the old city the most. Here are some snippets from what caught my eye that morning.
KL is not only tall and pairs.

Thanks for posting. I read your blog and saw some of the pictures there - keep them coming! Also I'm wondering which body and which 50mm you ended up using more.

Thanks Marduk
Both my ZI and MP gets about the equal amount of use.
In terms of the 50mm lens, i really did not have a preference then since they were both still rather new to me. I rotate the 50s every 2 days.
Picture quality wise, both 50s stand up to each other very well. However, i do find the 50 cron lighter and more ergonomic - I can work faster with the 50 cron
