Leica Event, May 10 Starts....

Sample from the Leica page. Looks pretty HDR-esk
Looking forward to more samples. It's kinda exciting in a way. :)

don't forget to check out ALien Skin Exposure 4. It competes with Silver Efex and emulates color film stocks as well - for those who can only afford color photography.

Within a couple of weeks Leica will collect sufficient data about about the number of prospective buyers who have been disappointed with the M9M..
For them there will be soon some new versions: "Maria Sharapova", "Kim Kardashian", "Angela Merkel" (rather for the diplomatic circles), besides the regular "Hermes" and "Harrods" too.

The good news is . . . . .

. . . . . if I sell my 35 Lux and 50 Lux, I will have enough money to buy the new 50 Cron!

So, when are they hitting the classifieds I'd new some newer glass :D

Err, the sample pictures provided on Leica's homepage looks like ****. I'll stick to TriX thanks.

+1 on this, extremely disappointed not that i was going to buy, but might make the M9 possibly accessible in the near future.

Although the pricing of the 'Cron makes me dry-wretch, I am deeply intrigued as to whether or not Leica have managed to produce one of the technically finest 50mm lenses available...

At that price, they should be able to produce one of the technically finest used cars

The samples on Leica's page right now look no more impressive than a contemporary CMOS camera run through Silver Efex Pro.

But, that's at web sizes, etc.. Might look amazing in print.

I recall Leica saying years ago they could improve the 50 Summicron, but to do so would be very expensive (read here, 'cost prohibitive'), and that was the reason they kept the '79 formula. I guess they're true to their word.

The price and hype are pretty silly, but the M9M is legitimately interesting. I like the ability to go color or B&W with most files, but the purity of B&W only would be useful for my method of working.

The 50 Cron and X2 are obscene.
